I would recommend either to have the laptop disassembled & replace the touchpad with a good one, or alternatively disable the touchpad in the Mouse applet in Control Panel & use an external USB mouse.

I have a dell inspiron 1525 laptop and my cursor jumps when im typing e-mails

If your hands are really warm they don't even need to touch the touchpad in order to move the cursor. You can go into "device manager" and disable the touchpad and just use a wireless mouse instead.

I cant move my cursor to my dell inspiron 1545. the touchpad wont work

Connect a USB mouse.
Then, in Control Panel, access the 'Mouse' panel, and "enable" the touchpad.

Dell keyboard problem

Its not the OS; its the touchpad.

You have to disable the touchpad and start using a regular mouse. When you're typing on a laptop even your hand hovering near the touchpad causes this stuff.

You can disable it in control panel. The minute u did this it will get stopped.
i am sure that this is going into your mind why did it not happen previously.
for your knowledge i should tell u that this generally happens with vista sometimes and is a common problem.
XP has an auto disable in the BIOS for this.

Sometimes the dell inspiron 1525 touchpad works ok (never like it should) and other times it won't move. It freezes up and just won't move. I waste so much time trying to get that arrow to move around...

You will need to go to www.support.dell.com there you will have to download the corect drivers from the touchpad,as it would seem that you have a driver problem. If not you might have to replace the palmrest.
Good Luck

Sound crackles on dell inspiron 640m

You might have a bad connection on your sound card or sound module. If you are savvy enough, you can easily check these. If not, take it to an authorized dealer. Good luck!

Inpspiron 1525 dell

It's probable you're inadvertently touching the touchpad with another part of your hands while you're typing. There's a setting in the touchpad configuration where you can choose to sort of disable the touchpad while typing. Regarding the trouble keys, there are keyboards that come deffective from the factory. The one I'm using this moment has that problem with just two keys, reason why I can still put up with it! If your notebook is still under warranty, call DELL and arrange service for it.
Good luck!

TOUCHPAD PROBLEM HARD TO CONTROL DRIFTING

There are two possibilities. One the cable from the touchpad to the motherboard needs to be reseated (sometimes they get loose) or touchpad is bad. You can get dell manual on line but you will need to remove the keyboard and then reseat cable. Be careful as cables can rip easily.

If this is helpful can you rate as fixya.
Thanks

Sensitive touch pad

Hi, click on start and control panel. go to mouse properties. Try to look for a tab that says either touch or touchpad. you can change the sensitivity settings there. however if this doesnt work, this could only mean that this is a physical problem with the toucpad. try to apply pressure on the outer side of the touchpad. if it moves, you're gonna need a replacement palmrest.
