Question about GPS
Hi, well i will try to help with professional advise.
I have found that these units mainly from China, are not all that well made. Often solder joints and wires break. Often a good "Going over" with a hot soldering iron, reattaching any broken wires, ensuring all, connections plugs and sockets are all mated well, will sometimes, brings these units back to life.
So the first thing to check, are all electrical connections to the unit.
If the screen isn't showing an image, but otherwise it appears on, try looking at the screen in the dark, is there any image? even a dim image? of any sorts?, if so, this then indicates that the backlight has gone faulty, and replacement may very well fix it?
Check your manual, possibly one maybe able to hard reset it, this may help?
All in all though, I see that these units can be bought cheaply on Ebay, to my mind this sort of makes repairs uneconomic, as by the time one adds time, and replacement parts, it will almost cost more to repair than to obtain a new one?
What I recommend is to try and find a place that will give you a "Quote" as to the cost of prospective repairs, and go from there?.
I advise my customers to always contact the manufacturer direct, and ask them for a referral to someone who is authorised to service their units, or indeed it may be required to send it back to the factory, in any event always first ask for a "Quote".
