Usually, there is a switch beside the furnace that looks like a regular light switch. Sometimes this switch is accidently turned off resulting in loss of power. Also, if you have changed the filter or inspected the furnace and the doors are not on properly, power could also be interrupted. These are two typical problems you need to check first.

Home furnace comfortmaker blowing cold air

Home owner's manual? Troubleshooting section. Gas or electric?
If gas, pilot light may be out, or other gas controls. Are you sure you have gas supply? Do you have other Gas appliances so you can check? Furnace needs power for controls, fan and thermostat. Are you sure you have electric power to the furnace? Does the thermostat have a fan switch? If so turn it on and see if the fan turns on. If it does not turn on you may have a circut breaker poped. or some other reason power to the furnace is not working.

Gas furnace does not come on

You should have 2 blue wires as well down at furnace connections. Remove thermostat wires going to those 2 blue wires and connect those 2 blue wires together, ( make sure they don't touch anything else) with thermostat on heat setting. If 12 VDC power going to red & white or red and black at furnace, connecting those 2 blue together, should start furnace. If not problem at furnace, if it does start, problem at thermostat or wiring to it. All that does is by-pass thermostat to confirm where problem is.

It says that the cool program is running but no air is coming out of the vents

there are a few things to look at 1) Power is on at furnace and condenser
2) Switch sub base to fan on and see if you get air. If that works and if there is air great. If no air check the furnace to see if the filter is plugged and or if the cooling coil is frozen If all is clear try this. 3) Shut down main power either at breaker or switch to the furnace and wait about a minute or so then turn on breaker or switch 4) If this fails you could have a controller board problem at the furnace or blown fuse. Without knowing the type or age of your system its either a board or relay provided power is good

On my therostat it show and talks about the R wire and the Rc wire. What is the differet?

If you would have a two transformer system..... The power wire from the furnace transformer would hook up on R and the power wire from the Air Conditioner transformer would hook up to Rc....

BUT most systems now only have one transformer...... So if you are using this thermostat you will need to put a jumper wire from R to Rc. So the Air Conditioner will work. Furnace is the source of the transformer. R/Rc,W,Y, C, on the Thermostat will Hook up to R,W, Y,C on the furnace and Two wire from the Air Conditioner would hook up on Y and C on the furnace.....Good Luck.

Check the pilot light size. Is it small and not surrounding the top 1/3 of the thermocouple? If it isn't then the pilot orfice is restricted or the pilot tube compression nut could be loose. The pilot gas adjustment screw may also need adjusting if this gas valve has one. These problems should only be addressed by an experienced service tech.

check your power source coming to the unit. also check to mack sure you have the unit set for A/C if your air conditioning. Also on most furnaces there is a kill switch when you remove the doors, usually on bottom. make sure that button is pushed in, if not it will completly kill the power to everytihng.
