The internal temperature is heating, but the internal blower fan is not cooling the thermocouple/ heating element. And due to this the heat exceeds the level and conveyor oven shuts down, but as soon as the thermocouple cools down, the unit comes ON.The same cycle continues. In your case, the internal blower fan needs to be checked.Try cleaning the fan and then see, if that makes any difference in problem. If its same as before, then try connecting external fan and see, if that is helping. 1.Make sure the ventilation Canopy Fan (This is not a part of the oven)is running.
2. Allow at least 10" gap between the back of the oven and the wall.
3. You can install a boster fan at the back of the oven to extract the heat from the main fan,This should help. Also if fan checked out, ok, then it can be heating elements, they must be getting overheated, then set temperature.Get the element connections checked./ --------- also if internal motor is getting weak or vent air is getting blocked, then inside heat increases and oven shuts off.so check the motor and clean the ventilations. This will help.thanks.Helpmech.

Seems the thermostat is malfunctioning...thus when baking at 500..thats quite high...it keeps getting hotter past that point to where the oven thinks its in self cleaning mode. Also seems like the problem because when it cools down your allowed to use it again. There is no way to test it with an ohmmeter. Just remove and replace.

Lock would not open after cleaning process has been canceled, oven is still hot

Don't open or try to open the oven door, until it has cooled down completely. The oven heats to a very hot temperature, usually 800 to 900 degrees. The door locks itself once it gets to a certain temperature, and will not allow the door to be opened until it cools below a certain temperature. On some units, this can take hours to cool down enough to unlock. If you try to force it before the cooldown is complete, it usually results in a repair call. If it still will not unlock when it is cool, turn your power to the oven off for 20 minutes, then turn on and reset your oven controls. Sometimes you have to put the oven back into the self-cleaning cycle, and then cancel it immediately to cycle the oven door lock. If it still won't unlock, call a repair company out to service this. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

Keeps going off when above 180 degrees, then back on again after 10-15 minutes ?!

Hi.
Without knowing your exact make and model I can only guess that your console cooling fan (sits at the top back of your oven) has failed. This is used to keep the the clock and controls from overheating. If it failes then a safety switch will activate and turn everything off in your cooker. when it cools down it will remake the contact and then switch everything back on again.

Hope this helps

Maytag gas oven cycles every 20 seconds

yes it is normal . but i know your not the first to think its not , todays ovens are so tight , it only takes 10 seconds of heat to keep them at proper temp . it used to be that ovens where kept at a 3 degree sweep that is set at 350 turn on and up to 353 then off ,cool down to 350 and back on . this was a longer time off and a longer time on topday we keep to 1 degree ! 350 on to 351 off to 350 on and so on ....... so short berst of heat make for a more even oven ........ but i know i hate it too ! good luck

Maytag oven needs temp calibration

Take your temp knob off and look in the center of the stem and you should find a small set screw. Using a small precision screwdriver, turn the screw until you see the light come on. (You won't have to turn it far.) Turn it a little at a time, maybe a 1/16 of a turn. Leave your thermometer in the oven with the door closed and at or near the temp probe that is in the oven. This way, you are getting a true reading.

Oven fan keeps running even after off and door open

3 to 4 hours is a long time. Get to the fans (behind the control panel) and check the screens for dust. Chances are the screens are clogged with dust and need to be cleaned so the fans can move air for cooling better. I had this problem on my GE JTP14, and after cleaning just one fan it can keep up with cooling the electronic area while the oven is running. It runs much less often.

Safety first! cut the breaker before removing anything with a nice conductive screwdriver! Hope this helps!

Oven shuts down

My mother-in-law's oven was doing the same thing. At first it was actually turning completely off which led me to think it was a loose connection on the circuit board. That turned out to be exactly what it was. I had to dismantle the front of the oven, remove the circuit board, and resolder the connections. The first time I did this I must have missed a few bad joints and that's when it started doing what you described (shuting off and showing lock door). I pulled it back apart and found a few more bad solder joints which I fixed; so far so good. This is of course one of those "don't try this at home" fixes but it least lets you know what is causing the problem.
