You need to change the plug from the old stove to the new stove. It is easy to do. Black on right. white in center, and red on left. The 4th wire is the ground or green. You will not have that one to hook up.

How do you change a 4 prong dryer plug down to a 3 prong power plug

Today's newer electric dryers now use a 4 prong plug. If you try to relegate your new dryer to the old 3 prong hook-up that you currently have in your house, you will have issues with your dryer. Instead, I recommend you update your house's wall receptacle to the newer 4 prong terminal and keep that new dryer warranty intact. Douglas

I just got a used kenmore model number 110 88752792 stackable washer and dryer. it had a 4 prong cord.I live in a travel trailer, it has a 24 inch wide space for a stackable washer and dryer that the 110...

You will need to get 230v to allow the dryer to work if your service panel has 230 you will need to get a 30 amp two pole breaker and run 3 wire #8 in size. Then get the socket and plug for the dryer. The 110 in the model number simply means made by whirlpool and is a pretty good machine but requires 230 volts to dry with heat.

Swich 4 cord to 3 cord plug in

To switch from a 4 prong to a 3 prong. First remove 4 prong cord, save screws you will need them. Look a 3 prong, it will be flat with 3 wires next to each other with metal fittings on the ends. The 2 outside which are hot wires go to the outside screws on the block, and the center which is neutral goes in the center. The only difference in the cords is the 4 prong has a ground, in new construction this is code. You don't need a ground if house is wired for a 3 prong.

Im putting in new stove. i have 3 wire(6 gauge)

most stoves require a 4 wire plug..red, black, white and ground..the white is needed for the 110V to work properly..ground is there for safety incase something shorts out it will blow a fuse/trip circuit breaker

3 prong outlet/4 prong plug

If you bought an electric range , it is a 220 volt range with a BIG plug and can only be used in a 220 volt outlet.
If you can plug a small appliance into that outlet then the outlet is only 110 volts and you need an electrician to run a new 220 line!!!!!!
Was the range you are replacing a gas range??? If so that runs on 110 volts like you TV and toaster and every other small appliance in your house!
If you are not sure what you are doing get a professional to help you!
Every year in the United States thousands of people die buy trying to fix the electrical in their home alone!
BEWARE 220 Volts will shock you! BUT USUALLY will kill you if you touch it!
