Sorry to say you have burnt on of the coils out open circuit. it probably will not be long now before the other coil blows as they are wound together and one can damage the other during burn out.

It makes a rattling sound when i turn it on

It could be the box. Boxes wear out over time and get loose. If not then its the voice coil. Theyre not blown all the way but youve done damage and burned some voice coil. I have 2 of them with bad voice coils that do that rattling. But they still hit super hard. To find out take the sub out the box and turn it up. If no noise then its the box.

I have a Kicker Solo-Baric, L7, 12 inch subwoofer making a scratching noise. The cone is fine but the inside is not. Can i get this repaired? Kicker said no. This is a $250-300 sub. I hate to just throw it...

The bad news is that your voice coils could be fried up, basically mechanical failure. Might as well buy a new sub because replacing a voice coil means you got to rip the whole sub apart, very complicating.

Sounds like a lose wire vibrating against woofer. Could it be my voice coils?

HI. Your assessment is correct. This is , indeed, the result of a damaged voice coil. There may be a local audio store in your area, that may have a in house tech. This tech should be able to repair this type of coil damage, in house. If this is not an option, I recommend to contact the manufacture for a repair ticket.

The Kicker brand is centrally locate in Stillwater O.K. 1-800-256-3746

How do you hook up 2 12" L7's to a kicker 1200.1 amp?

You have a 2 ohm stable amp, and dual voice coil subs.. The L7's come in both Dual 4 ohm, and Dual 2 ohm, so you have to know what impedance your coils are prior to wiring. HERE is a nifty little guide that will show you how to wire your subs. DO NOT WIRE THE SUBS LOWER THAN 2 OHMS ON YOUR AMPLIFIER!

Amp 4 a Kicker S17L7

just make sure your kenwood amp can at least handle a 2ohm stereo load. Most amps now are able to .Your amps manual should list this or go online and check for that model .You basically have 2 subs in one allowing you to use one sub box in stereo mode. And just hook it up like two speakers left and right ..make sure amp has a crossover so that you only get bass at your woofer

Craking sound

its either a bad voice coil or your amp is under powered while hitting good bass, could try a CAP or replace your car battery

NEED HELP

wire them parallel and pray to god that amp dosnt explode. jkjk

it really depends on what the ohm ratings are for the voice coils you could wire two subs serial and the other two serial and then run both sets parallel.
