Question about Kenmore 43042 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

I have a Kenmore model 43042 frontloader. Recently, the outer drum piece was replaced by my ex-husband. After completing the repair, we ran an empty load and eveything worked great. Today, I went to do my first load of clothing and the washer stopped (no power at all) in mid-cycle. I tried to unplug and re-plug. I checked the breaker. I even tried smacking it, and nothing. HELP!

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. You need to make sure your fuse did not blow in the washer. Make sure it is on the correct setting also. Push and hold in the start button and see if it comes on. You want to make sure the washer is getting power. You should check the outlet to be sure. With Kenmore, you may have a bad lid switch. They can get bent and not work right. It may be defective.

The fuse is located on the control board. You will need to remove the panel to get to it.

I have a kenmore frontloading washer, during the spin cycle a noise like grinding can be heard, grinding can also be heard when turning drum by hand...help

its the drum bearings that support the inner drum, you need to replace these bearings, the problem with this is it was manufactured by frigidaire for kenmore and you cant just buy the inner bearing and lip seal as it comes with the outer rear half of the outer.tub where as with maytag neptune or whirlpool duet you can drive these bearin gs out and re-use the tub half, but you can't buy just the bearings and seal for a frigidaire front loader

My Kenmore front load 4304 washing machine tub

I would need the complete model # to get you a breakdown showing the piece i believe to be broken and in need of replacement. I believe this Kenmore F.L. was built by Frigidaire and they have had a problem with a specific piece on this machine. I will be glad to help once you get me the full model, should be around the opening of the door.

Horrific banging when in the spin cycle

There are a series of balancing springs connected to the drum. It sounds as though one of them has come off or loosened. Yuo'll need to turn the machine on its side to find out. Good Luck! Let me know how you make out.

Kenmore front loader run with shipping bolts in

I would have sears replace the washer and also replace all the damage in your house. If it pulled out the drain hose there could be damage in there, if they are not willing to replace the machine then they should run a thorough diagnostic to make sure EVERYTHING is in working order, and still replace what is damaged to your house

Kenmore Washing Machine doesn't rinse

The drain line is probably clogged. Maybe that a small sock or other piece of clothing get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. Check as well that pump spins and clean from any clogged. Good luck!

Loud Noise - Spin Cycle

It sounds like the bearings are going bad. Try spinning the drum with your hand while it is empty. It should spin nice and smooth. If the rotation feels a little rough and noisy, you might have a problem. You can double check by taking the drive belt off and try shaking the pulley. If there is "play" when shaking the pulley, the bearings are most likely toast. The inner stainless drum rides on two bearings which sit in the rear of the outer plastic drum. The whole plastic drum and bearings come as one piece and go for $150. It would cost about the price of a new maching to have someone come out and repair it for you. It sounds like kenmore has had a bearing problem which is pretty rediculous considering how much these things cost. Sears said, "those tend to go in a few years", which is criminal especially since the warrenty is usually conveniently exopired by the time this problem happens. If you are handy, have a spare day, and can remember how to put a washing machine back together, go for it. I did it and it was not a fun time. There is a lot of sharp metal edges in the machine so wear gloves. good luck
