Try doing this: Toggle the hold switch and put it back in the off position. Then press and hold the center button and the menu button simultaneously for ten seconds and the apple symbol should come up on the screen. Then it should work like normal. Hope this helps!

Batteries--especially rechargeable ones--do not hold their charge forever. The batteries power naturally drains, even if you don't use them. Just recharge your ipod, and it should work fine.

The battery of my iPod is not charging

<p>When you buy an iPod, the device comes with cables that connect the charging device to the computer. When the iPod battery is low, you can recharge by plugging into your desktop or laptop. Disconnect the computer from sleep when the computer set to sleep after a certain time. An iPod can only load on a computer that is connected and not in sleep mode. The device seems to have frozen with a very pale screen though it has enough charge. No change when put back on charge.

I had this problem - I followed the instructions here (putting iPod into Disk Mode) and successfully got the iPod back.

Hi. I'm using ipod nano. I was listening to it since morning and suddenly it just turn off and i couldn't turn it on back. It cant be charge as well. Can someone please help. I just bought it for a month...

This is a case of your iPod Nano simply not holding a charge, which is why it is turning off on you. I understand you have already mentioned that it is not holding a charge either, but that later trait according to Apple is the issue.

Some of the key steps you can initially attempt to resolve this issue, include making sure when you connect your iPod to your PC (or Mac) to make sure the sync cable is securely seated in the iPod and the USB connector is seated in the USB port of your computer.

If you are using Firewire on your iPod, the Firewire port on your PC may not actually be powered, so whenever you connect your iPod, it may be charging the device.

These are some potential troubleshooting steps you can try, however,if you find these few procedures do not work, click the link below to review the remainder of the recommended troubleshooting steps from Apple in addressing charge or power issues with the iPod Nano.

Ipod touch frozen

Try this
  1. Power off the device (Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the the iPod touch to turn off.
  2. Press and hold the Home button while reconnecting the USB cable to iPod. When you reconnect the USB to iPod, the device should then power on.
  3. Continue holding the Home button while iPod starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo.
  4. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message:
  5. Restore and it'll download ~240mb firmware and you're done
But you will lose all your data and you will have to jailbreak it again.

My screen is on language selection and does not let me scroll or anything i think its frozen.

Hi,

If your iPod is frozen or won't turn on, the steps to reset it vary by model.

  1. Toggle the Hold switch. To do this, slide the switch to Hold (an orange bar appears) and then slide it back (orange bar is hidden).
  2. Reset the iPod by holding down the Menu and Center buttons for 10 seconds.
    • If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect the iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes and can play music. If the iPod appears in iTunes and can play music, no further troubleshooting is needed.
    • If the Apple logo does not appear or the iPod is not seen in iTunes, connect the iPod to a power source by either plugging it into an Apple iPod USB Power Adapter or directly into a computer's USB port.
  3. Let the iPod charge for at least 20 minutes. Note: If the iPod is connected to a computer, make sure the computer does not sleep, standby, or hibernate during the 20-minute charging period.
  4. After the iPod has charged for at least 20 minutes and while it is still connected to the power source, toggle the Hold switch again as in step 1.
  5. Try resetting the iPod by holding down the Menu and Center buttons for 10 seconds.
    • If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect the iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes and can play music. If the iPod appears in iTunes and can play music, no further troubleshooting is needed.
    • If the Apple logo does not appear or the iPod is not seen in iTunes, try putting the iPod into disk mode and restoring.
  6. Try putting the iPod into disk mode.
    • While in disk mode, connect the iPod to iTunes and try to restore.
    • If the iPod is still not recognized by iTunes, the iPod should be serviced.
    Hope i helped you.
Thanks.

My ipod nano third generation is frozen

You should not plug the ipod to pc while it is playing because it is switches from the playing mode to sync and charging mode you can not play and use the ipod while it is connected with the software without ejecting it from itunes. Do a reset by pressing and holding the center and menu buttons at the same time until the screen goes back and apple logo pops up. This should reset your ipod and fix the problem.
