Question about Dryers

1 Answer

I have a Fisher Paykel SmartLoad dryer, model #DEGX1. I am trying to replace the lint filter. I have already purchased the part. Is this something that I can do myself or do I have to call in an expert?

Lint seems to be clogging dryer fan

lint should not get anywhere near the intake of the fan...the filter should catch all the fluff from the drier....clean the filter or replace if its damaged.

The dryer won't run. Dry, extra dry, and coold down process lights are lit.

Hi, the lights are signaling a control fault the is concerning the logic sector of the control board/timer. you will need to make sure that the wiring harness is connected to all points and it should be in good condition. if there are no apparent issue with the wiring harness, replace the control.

Lint is not going into pull out lint trap. The lint screen is torn and lint is collecting behind trap.

Poor air flow would be my guess. How long is the vent hose? Does it have more than one angle/turn before venting outside? Is the lint gathering around the outer edges of the door? Keeping the length of air travel shorter will improve the operation.

Fisher paykel degx1 lint trap won t release

Probably the holder/bearing for is out of place... it is really hard to get it out if this is the case but you can try putting a putty knife in between the top of the lint trap and the bearing and pressing down on the knife. If you get it out the lint scraper will have to be reset, F/P may be able to walk you through this.
