Chain alignment


the pedal sprocket is a fixed position and the adjustment is done at rear wheel the chain will go out of alignment if rear tire is not tightened correctly which would cause wheel to tilt --bearing in wheel or pedal damaged --

How to change back innertube on 26" mongoose estes bike


First turn the adjuster on the rear brake handle all the way in and make sure the slots on the adjuster and set nut are lined up, pull the brake cable out and leave it attached to the lever to open the rear brake pads, loosen the bolts on the tire and pull the derailer up to remove the tire, remove the dustcap from tube and using a flat tool (Wal-Mart has tire tools for $1) take one side of the tire bead out of the rim, pull the old tube out, place the stem of the new tube in the hole and put the cap on, tuck the new tube in the tire trying to keep it flat as possible, push the bead of the tire back into the rim. before inflating the tire, put it back on the frame while pulling the derailer up to get the chain back on the cogs( they will adjust later) tighten the bolts and inflate the tire to desired pressure (between 35-60 psi)

Back hand brake rubs on pads cannot adjust basic hand brakes


If you can't adjust your brake position by using the adjustment screws you can loosen the wheel bolts and physically change the tires position to make it fit within the brakes. If that doesn't work take you bicycle into your local bike shop and have them check your rim alignment.

Replace and adjust brake pads


Is this disk or brake blocks like cantilever or vbrake. I have disks now b ut have never messed with them. If it is not disk then I would just say to make sure that the rear part of the pad hits the rim first. Fine tuning is done by adjusting the turn buckle where the cable goes into the lever. Set the brakes so that when you are pulling hard on the brakes, on dry pavement, set the brakes so that they only get tight enough to not quite lock up. And make sure you use both brakes at the same time. Not just one or the other. adjust the pads by putting one or two dimes between the pad and rim. There are also adjustment screws on the brake arms that control spring tension and in the end the alignment of tire between the brakes. You want the same space between pads and rim on both sides. If they squeal because you have been riding with poorly adjusted brakes take a file to the pads to level them out. Thy will grab better after this. Hope it helps

16 inch bicycle tire is flat. Need replacement, where to buy?


Call Dynacraft (bike maker) at 1-800-551-0032. My daughter's rear tire was flat and they sent out a new tube for free. She had the bike for only about 4 months. They also sent out a new rear tire as bearing/coaster brake assembly was make noises. The only problem is her original rim was purple and they sent out a silver colored rim as they don't have purple replacement part. I also had to install the tube and tire on the new rim. They only send replacement parts not assemblies.
