Question about LG Washing Machines

1 Answer

I have an LG washing machine and I am having a problem trying to wash my bathroom mats. They do not have any rubber on the back it is the same material on both sides which ofcourse makes them heavier. The mats are 25 inches by 38 inches. The machine had trouble spinning them and when it finally finished they were full of water and extremely heavy. I am wondering if it is because LG is a direct drive???? I am very disappointed and was wondering if there is a solution to this. The model I have is WM2020C. Any help would be appreciated. Sincerely Sue Stensby

Maybe you should just wash one at the time and hang them out to dry. Water level and wash time are set automatically based on the weight and size of each load for optimal washing care.

This was not helpful as I am more concerned about the washer than the dryer, It struggled to wash the one that was in there for a long time and like I say there was only one mat in there.

Check your drain pump. It is on the front lower side of the machine. There is a small door which opens to it. Unscrew the filter and the pump cover. Be careful when you do this. There is a small drain hose next to it. Use this hose to drain to a pan before opening the filter lid.

My Front End Load Washer does not drain

The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the hose you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a bunch of towels or a good big plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully.

Next: You can use Affresh to clean your front loader. Deposits of soap and other such things can be stuck around the inside tub of your washer. Try this product, it works great on all front loaders. Use hot water with the Affresh pellet with no clothes and run the machine through a cycle. Also helps with any stagnant water smells. Have you cleaned out your pump lately. Put the pellet inside the machine, not in the soap dispenser.
Pl give me a good rating for the free help, thanks.

Washer stopped at begin of wash cycle

The problem seems to lie in the rubber backed mat. If the rubber has begun to peel of the mat it often-times get stuck in the drain pump. The best thing to do at this point is to disconnect the electrical cord, open up the machine, drain out the water as best as possible disconnect the power cord to the drain and the hoses. Clean out the drain pump. reassemble. You should be good to go., Unless the drain pump is burned out (left running plugged up too long) if thats the case, replacement of the pump may be neccessary.... Hope this helps...Good luck!.... Small rug washing in front end loader washer

its problably not able to balenbace the load of rugs, if the machine cant balance itwont go to high speed spin. in actuallity your probalby better off bringing the rugs to the laundry mats, especially if the are rubber backed, the rubber backing will come off clogging your pump assy, then your looking at replacing hte pump for a few hundred dollars, for a clean set of $30 bath rugs.

My washer vibrates so much it actually moves the appliance. Yes, it is level. I also took the clothes out of the washer and tried the spin cycle with out clothes in it and it still vibrates.

If you call LG they actually have some rubber pads to go under the unit to stop it from sliding and it also helps with the vibrations. Part number is 4620ER4002B.
I know of people who have also gotten a thick rubber mat, stal mat, and put it under the unit. They claim that it works wonderfully.

Yep that rug backing has totally clogged hoses, drain pump.
will have to be dissasembled and cleaned. You could try some creative things like using air pressure to try and clear the tubes.
