Intermatic & Outdoor Lighting Timer Logo
Posted on Apr 10, 2011

I would like to purchase a transformer that goes to 50% lighting after scheduled full brightness timed hours. Unit needs to have phoot sensor so it shuts down completely at daybreak. Do you have a unit to accommodate request? The timer on my current unit (not an Intermatic) is malfunctioning and had those features. Thank you, Chuck

I don't know of a timer that matches.

Is this low voltage? What brand, etc? What does timer control?

Intermatic makes low voltage, so does Kitchler.
I don't know much about Kitchler brand.

I recently purchased an Audiovox Clock Radio CR20 from the USA on a visit to that country. I am back in my home country India and started using the clock radio. I find that the clock is not keeping correct...

The reason of your problem is that your local mains frequency is 50 Hz and when you use 230V to 120V converter, this simple device can not convert frequency only the voltage. Your clock is synchronized to the mains frequency which is 50 Hz instead of 60 Hz and the clock goes slowly. It is late (60-50)/60 ---> 10 minutes in every hour.
I am sorry but I think your problem can not be fixed. ( It would be possible to convert the frequency but the cost of this kind of device would be higher than the value of this Audiovox)

Thanks.

When bright light or explosions on games the tv goes black for a couple seconds, sometimes i have to power off then on.

The contrast and brightness combined at that point is setting the over current sensor in the TV. Try reducing the contrast and brightness a little.

Missing transformer for light voyager by Phorm. This is a book light. It calls for 5vdc, could I use a 4.5vdc? Or do you have a 5vdc transformer to purchase?

A 4.5vdc transformer/adapter most likely will work, provided the device is not polarity sensitive and would not give the full brightness of a 5v supply.

Dim monitor

5 years old, lamps are good for about 50 000 to 60 000 hours of life you would have to do the math based on average number of hours per week/month and see where your are, several things to check initially are inside look for blown capacitors, you can find images all over the net Google "blown capacitor image" and you will see what to look for.
Next could be inverter failure as they get old and work pretty hard. Last the ccfl lamps may be dieing of old age like the florescent lamps in buildings, they get burnt at each of the ends and have a hard time lighting up.
let me know what you find.

HEATER AND PILOT GOES OFF AT TIMES

Sounds like your oxygen depletion sensor is shutting your unit off. The problem with fixing your unit is that it may cost you the same to purchase a new one (assuming you pay someone to fix it).

Car will not let me accelarate

Hi, If it goes/accelerates with light pedal pressure you probably need another Mass Air Flow Sensor unit. Junk Yard or eBay for less than $50 should cure it if it . If pressing ******* the accelerator is the only time it doe NOT accelerate, then yes, MAF sensor unit.
Have it analyzed if this is not the case.
Should be no more than 1/2 hour labor at the dealer or mechanic to install your part.

good luck

Hi, Have just purchased Samsung DVD HDD recorder (DVD-SH855). Everything works great except the timer recording. When i schedule a recording, the system wont start recording. The recording light flashes...

I had the same issue. It turns out that the recorder has to be switched off otherwise it won't record. The unit will power itself on at the scheduled time and record your program. It doesn't make any sense to me why this would be a requirement but it solved the problem for me.

Humidifier says "bucket full", not using bucket have hose attached

Hi,

Offhand, two possibilities:
1. erroneous sensor reading(s) causing system to respond likewise erroneously; and/or
2. firmware/software glitch.

Initially, I would suggest a full hard reset, that is unplug from the mains for an hour or so. This would normally revert the unit back to factory default (assuming no hardware problem). Additionally, you may want to check the sensor(s) like the a bucket full sensor often would be a float switch of some kind.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Dead printer?

I assume the transformer has 2 wires coming out of it. My guess is that the wire from the transformer is working however the wire leading from the Transformer to the printer is not.

You may need to purchase another power unit.
But on the bright side, a transformer is cheaper than a new printer.
:)

Hope this helps.
