Question about Exercise & Fitness

Open Question

Hi! I have balanced two wheels whith my 471 Repco Electronic wheel balancer. I let a wheel shop test my two wheels. My wheels have too much tireweight, 15-20 gram each. I also test some of my summerwheels and I have same problem there. Do you know if I can callibrate my 471? I did not find anything about this in the manual. Do you have some manual for calibration? Best regards Michael Carlin Sweden

Hi, John static balancing is fine for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary, transport your bike to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your problem. Steering wobbles when driving

Improperly balanced wheels can cause the wheels to wobble at speed which can be felt through the steering wheel. A local tyre shop can test the wheels for balance and make the necessary adjustments to the wheels by adding weights to even out the balance.

Right front tire inside balding, shakey steering wheel at higher speeds. Any input?

Hi,
This sounds like the wheel balance is out and /or the tracking is out. You need to take it to the tyre shop and ask for the front wheels (both ) to be tracked and balanced. This should cure the problem.
Good luck

2002 VW Passat shakes when on the highway traveling over 60mph. ABS module needs to be changed, as well as some engine coils. Do not know why shaking is happening, any info on this?

Over 60 MPH is likely due to the wheels being out of balance. I would take it to a local tire shop and have the wheels balanced and then take for a test drive. Look also for bent rims or any damage to the tires but over 60 is likely out of balance.

HI I HAVE A 01 FORD EXPEDITION AND ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO IT STARTED TO SHAKE A LITTLE WHEN IM GOING ABOUT 50MPH AND ITS LIKE WELL IM NOT A MECHANIC BUT ITS LIKE THE INJECTORS WERE DIRTY. OR SOMETHING WAS...

Sounds like a wheel balance problem. If there's no instability in the steering at speed (wandering, cutting) meaning you don't have to keep correcting it to stay on the road, its most likely tire balance. Check your wheels for packed mud, bent rims or tire belts that have seperated. The way to tell this is to look at the sidewalls for concave spots. This is where there will be a broken belt. This will create balance problems. If none of these exist take it to a tire shop and have them check the balance. The shop that installed the tires will usually do this for free.

My GX470 IS JERKING. The kind of feeling when wheels aren't balanced. Have done balancing and nothing changed. It happens whether brakes are applied or not.what else do I have to do.

make sure they were balanced correctly. the big lexus SUVs are very sensitive to the balance of the wheels. alot of tire shops use what is called smart balance, it rounds off the amount of wheel weights to make balancing faster. its great on most cars but on luxury cars it doesnt work as well. also make sure they roadforce the wheels. however unlikely it is that wheels with that large a sidewall will have high roadforce it is still possible.

Car starts shakeing or vibrating once you hit 40 mph

There may be snow and ice packed in the inside of wheels. I would remove all wheels and clean the insides Or you may choose to have a tire shop do this and balance them. May have also lost some wheel weights.
