Thew battery is inside the push button ignitor. Remove the outer plastic ring around the rubber push button. It unscrews counterclockwise. The battery will be inside the holder. Replace the old battery with a new, like kind (AA or AAA). Before you install the new battery, look inside the batter holder for corrosion. If you see any, clean it with a Q-Tip and WD40. When you install the new battery, be sure it's facing the direction as the old one was, you removed. Usually, the + end should face you. Reinstall the ignitor button cap and you should be ready to go.

Where is the battery located on this grill?

No battery. The igniters are piezo style that doesn't use batteries. If it has failed, you can get a replacement at any store that sells BBQ grilles or home improvement stores.

Battery igniter

If you have an electric igniter, you need to locate where on the side of the grill the battery (e.g. AA size) that generates the electricity for the igniter is located. Replace the battery, and assure the contacts are cleaned (as they may have corrosion if grill located outside). Then check where the ground of the igniter is connected to the grill. I unscrewed the screw where the ground was located, cleaned off the corrosion with a fine sandpaper, then reconnected it to a new screw on the cabinet.

Igniters stop working. replaced once before. need new igniter.

The igniter is warrantied by the manufacturer for 3 years. And now you're on your second one. I was just wondering, have you changed the battery in the igniter button? If so, was it installed facing the same direction as the one you replaced? Was there any corrosion on the battery holder contacts? If so, a Q-Tip & WD40 does well cleaning it off. Also, the ground wire from the ignition module may be loose and is not making contact with the grill's frame. When that happens, the spark ignitors won't spark.

I hope these few things, that have been pointed out, will save you the trouble of having to replace another ignition module.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Webber gennines grille have to press real hard to get to ignite grille not very old

Since you model has battery powered ignition, it may simply be a case of having to replace the battery. And while you have it out, check for corrosion on the contacts, inside the battery holder. Take note of which way the old battery is facing in the holder. As you want to install the new battery exactly the same way.

I hope this helped you and Happy Grilling. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have a Ducane Affinity 4400 grill. The ignitor has worked fine for the first couple of years and just recently stopped working. I replaced the battery and this corrected the problem for a few weeks, but...

Several things come to mind, that may be contributing to the problem.

1. Corroded contacts in the battery holder. Remove the battery and inspect for corrosion. Use a
Q-Tip & WD40 to clean the contacts.
2. A loose or corroded connection of the ground wire from the ignition module to the grill's frame.
Trace and inspect the ground wire.
3. Loose or damaged wires to each burner's spark igniter. Remove the grill grates and the flame
tamers to inspect each spark igniter.

If none of the above solves the problem, replacing the ignition module is the next step. You can purchase one from Ducane http://www.ducane.com/contact/
or from http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/gasgrillparts/

I hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling.

Igniter will not work

I believe this grill has a push button electronic ignition. The first thing to check is to remove the top and replace the battery, be sure the battery is put in correctly. If this does not fix the problem, check the wiring from the igniter to each electrode for breaks, shorts, or disconnected. If these things do not work, start by replacing the igniter itself.

How do i replace the batteries in a gas grill's ignitor?

Many grills just use a standard 9 volt battery. Trace the wire from the bottom of the igniter button you push. One of the wires from this button also attaches to the battery compartment. Simply remove the battery and replace. It's usually under the shelf near the igniter button.

Ignition switch doesn't "click" or ignite gas inside grill. How is this repaired?

If there is no "clicking sound", it is most likely the 9V battery inside the igniter button socket is dead. Take a look at this link: http://www.ajmadison.com/ajmadison/itemdocs/AGBQ-42SZ.pdf
..it should be an easy 1,2,3 replacement of the battery.
