Question about Foxconn P4M9007MB-8RS2H Motherboard

1 Answer

Hi, I've aquired a used P4M9007MB-8RS2H, furnished it with a (properly working) P4 631 plus 2 x 512 MB Hynix PC2 3200U-333-12 modules and connected it to : - a Xilence MP480 with both 24 pin-ATX cable and 8 pin-Power cable, - a 3 pin CPU cooler - a floppy disk drive - a VGA cable (via onboard graphics) - and both Mouse and keyboard via PS/2-connector This configuration should be sufficient as test platform prior to installation into a chassis. So, I'm short cutting the power pins, the CPU-fan is running and I'm getting a single "beep" (about 4 seconds), again and again. Clearing CMS doesn't help, replacing the RAM modules doesn't help, the monitor keeps being dark, the mb is still emitting its "beeps". Can it be rescued? Thanks in advance and best regards from Bremen/Germany, Thomas

The first thing you should be checking are the leads

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electic extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
hope this helps

Hi, I want to upgrade my RAM from 256 MB 400MHz DDR1 (hynix) to 1GB DDR1. Do the both will work together or i would have to use 1GB alone? Im having ASUS K8V- VM motherboard. Will it be compatible with...

It will be compatible but it is recommended, you use same type of modules(RAM)
ie 256 MB + 256 MB
1GB + 1GB
Plus the advantage of using two instead of one(If you want 2GB, go for 1-1Gb two modules, depends on you) are, if one fails other works.

P4M9007MB-8RS2H mbd does not access dvd rw but works fine with cdrw

What kind of connection do you use for each one? SATA or IDE. Take a look at these photos.

They are from hard dsiks but the connectors are the same at the cd-dvd drives.
