Question about Whirlpool Electric Range

1 Answer

While cooking a turkey the oven reached the heat setting and the turkey was placed in to cook two hours. After two hours when the turkey was removed the heat was off and the turkey had not cooked. However the digital display showed the correct temperature and showed ON. I hit cancel and then bake again and set the temp again the display showed correctly that the oven was on but it did not warm up. After trying this several times, I went to the main electrical panel and turned the breaker off to the stove for a few minutes. I switched the breaker back on and then I was able to operate the oven and cook the turkey

Next time send the model number so i csn look up your machine, open the bottom draw and on the frame you'll see a tag with the model and serial numbers, all i would need is the model, anyway you must have a computer board in the clock assy. and sometimes just like your house computer has to be restarted because for some reason the computer froze and shutting down the power will reset it,if this keeps happening you'll have to change out the clock assy.but i've seen this happen, the first thing i do when i go in on a job and the machine has a computer board in it is to unplug it for 5 minutes to see if it resets and usually it doesn't happen again unless the power went out or something like that, keep an eye on it you should be fine but if it happens again soon for no reason like i say you might have to change out the clock assy.good luck any more problems i'd be happy to help.

What power level should i when cooking 16 pound turkey?

Turkey Farmers of Canada recommends cooking a whole turkey to an internal temperature of 170°F (77°C) in the middle and 180°F (82°C) in the thigh. When roasting, any stuffing placed in the cavity of the bird should reach an internal temperature of at least 165°F (74°C). Let the bird stand for 20 minutes before carving.

I have a 24 pound turkey that I want to cook in the roaster oven over night. Can this be done and how?

You can, but cooking overnight will ruin the turkey. The bird will be overcooked and literally fall apart. The term is called 'cooking to rags'. The bre asttt meat will be very dried out.

Unstuffed is only 4 to 4 1/2 hours. Stuffed is 5 to 5 1/2 hours. I only stuff the neck end. Another tip is to cook the turkey bre asttt down. If you do it that way, all the juices from the fattier part of the turkey, the legs and thighs bastes the bre asttt as it cooks. If you cook it this way once, you will do it every year. Turn the bird over to carve it once it has rested for 20 minutes. Tent it with foil. Put folded foil over the wings. I am a trade masterchef.

How long do i cook a 13 lb. turkey and at what oven temperature

What temperature do you cook a 13 pound turkey at?
After about 3 hours, insert an oven-safe thermometer deep into the thigh without touching the bone. Begin checking the turkey for doneness about 30 minutes before the recommended cook time. Your turkey is done when the temperature with a meat thermometer is 180° F in thigh and 165° F in middle or stuffing.

What temp should i cook a 20lb turkey in a rival roaster oven model num r01801

This turkey is right on the edge of the size recommended for this roaster, so first, check the fit- you need about an inch all around including the top to get good cooking. Any place it touches the sides it will tend to overcook.

The Rival manual suggested 375 for pre basted or 350 for fresh 9-14 minutes per pound. In my experience this is too hot. I use 325 for 4 to 4 3/4 hours at 325 for an 18 pound turkey; a 21 pounder takes about 35-45 minutes more. The USDA now uses 165 as the end point temp (down quite a bit from a few years ago), but if you stuff, that has to be in the middle of the stuffing, and the turkey will overcook somewhat while it gets there. All experts agree that turkeys cook better and safer if unstuffed, so considering that you will have to make an extra pan of stuffing to have it for everyone, you would be well advised to cook your turkey unstuffed and use some of the drippings to flavor the pan of stuffing while the turkey rests.

Can you cook a stuffed turkey in the roater oven

Yes, similar timewise to a regular oven. But it depends on the size of the turkey, if stuffed you definitely want to check the fit- you need about an inch all around including the top to get good cooking. Any place it touches the sides it will tend to overcook.

It adds about 1-2 minutes per turkey pound if stuffed.

Breaker flipped on my oven while cooking a turkey

If the oven was still slightly warm to the touch when you came home is probably fine. 45 minutes was not enough time to get the turkey hot down near the bone, so if it was cool I would discard it. But if you were lucky and it was still warm, go ahead.

Big 18 pound turkey and no manual

Place turkey on trivit in roaster and add 2 cups oof water. place lid on roaster and seal edge with foil. Preheat oven to 500 degrees.  Place in oven for one hour and turn oven off and go to bed.  Turkey will cook while temperature is coasting down.  Turkey will be still warm in the morning.  We have been doing this for several years and always comes out golden brown and juicey.  Do not stuff bird while cooking.

No conventional oven...will turkey brown in roaster oven?

it looks like we're looking for a solution to the same problem. i've been searching and searching for an answer but have only found a few choices. one is to take the turkey out during the last half hour of cooking and place it in the oven to finish, thus browning the outer layer. another says to put some kind of a rub solution on. the solution is made up of sauces or juices that i really don't want in the flavoring of my bird. i wonder if the lid on the roaster was to be situated a little higher over the roaster so that the moisture could escape but heat could still be captured an reflect back toward the bird thus allowing the skin layer of the bird to "dry out" and bake. i haven't figured it all out. i'm still looking.
