In your control panel, go to windows updates. see if you may find it is not been installed. then search online at the microsoft website for the patch. download, install, and go.

You can download that patch here.
note: you need a legitimate license of windows, meaning you have to have paid for your Vista.

I have Microsoft Outlook Web Access, running with VISTA and IE 7. I can't type in the body of emails. There is an 'x' in the body space. Can someone help me change settings so as to write in the body?

Try this Solution on your desktop PC:
1. In Outlook Web Access [OWA] , click on the "options" in the left Task Pane.

2. Under “E-mail Security” and Click Install or Upgrade the S/MIME Control. This will download a new add-on.

3. Click “RUN” when asked about the Microsoft Outlook Web Access S/MIME install and security warning.

4. Close and RESTART IE7

If the above trick still doesn't work then it more sounds like the Exchange server needs a patch

[path to the patch]
If you by chance happen to maintain the exchange server then install the above patch and restart exchange service

or check this site for reference:

Good luck :)

Need patch for free space 2 game to play in windows vista needs to recognize I have 4 gigs of memory

is it not installing, try to browse setup.exe or install file for the game, right click and choose run as administrator..it should be installed w/o any problems,or if you were able to install this and the game just crashes upon playing it,you need to put it to compatibility mode,To do this search for freespace.exe (Probably in C:\Program Files\Volition\", right click and select the "compatibility" tab. Check the box that says "run this program in compatibility mode for" and select "Windows 98"

I am fairly new to PCs. I recently purchased a Toshiba 205 and have Vista SP1.  I purchase Print Shop Delux 22 and started the installation process before I read the statement about don't start...

Hello, Encore Software has released a patch to make Print Shop Deluxe 22 compatible on Windows Vista.

Here is what they say here:

http://support.encoreusa.com/kb.asp?id=571

Problem I am looking for the Vista compatibility patch. Solution This Windows® Vista update will detect and repair The Print Shop® 22 and PrintMaster® 17 applications already installed on your computer. After applying this update The Print Shop® 22 and PrintMaster® 17 will operate normally on computers running Windows® Vista.

Update Instructions
1. Click the link located at the bottom of this page.
Note: For Microsoft® Internet Explorer® the File download dialog may appear. Select Save this program to disk and click OK.

2. Choose a location (e.g., the Desktop) and click Save. The download process will begin.

3. When the download is complete, close the Download window.

4. Locate and double-click the Broderbund_Print_Update.exe file that was downloaded to begin installing the update.

5. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
Note: Depending on system or user account settings, you may encounter several interruptions during the installation process. If so, please click Continue or Allow in order to proceed.

6. Launch and use The PrintShop® 22 or PrintMaster® 17.

I HAVE JUST DOWNLOADED AVG FREE NOW I NEED VISTA PATCH KB959247 DO YOU NO WHERE I COULD GET THIS FROM

That is a KB article from Microsoft needed to install AVG with Vista.
If you look at where AVG says you need this KB it has two KB's listed there, one for Vista 32bit and one for Vista 64bit. Click on the blue writing that corresponds to your version of Vista and it will automatically open the Microsoft download page with the KB (knowledge base) download that you need.

I need the KB292547 Vista Patch so I can get AVG.

http://search.microsoft.com/results.aspx?mkt=en-US&setlang=en-US&q=KB292547%20Windows%20Update

indicates that there is no such thing as KB292547 on any of various Microsoft sites. Besides, since when has anyone needed to install an update to Windows in order to run AVG.. I also looked on both my XP and Vista machines and neither have this patch mentioned, so I then looked up all patches included in Vista SP-1 and it is not there either... Maybe you mistyped your KB #

All right, let's try this again ! Sorry that other link appears to have broken. This should lead you to the Microsoft downloads page...you will first have to validate, then you should be able to download the fix.

Now, on to the data is invalid issue. It seems like the patch you have may have been corrupted. Try to redownload, and apply a new patch, and see if that works.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there on your particular issue, so we may have to wing it to start with. A possible cause of this, so you know, may be some kind of malware already on your pc. Are you installing AVG to get rid of something ? Or just for protection ?

Anyway, try getting rid of the earlier download ( use add/remove) and redownloading the kb fix. If that doesn't work, then we'll go from there.

Make sure you have uninstalled any other antivirus software from the computer. Some PC''s come with Norton or McAfee pre-installed. You can go to the Control Panel, and to "Add or Remove Programs" to see if there is any other protection software you may have missed.
