Try finding a solid ground and make sure theres not only a hot lead but also an ignition lead. If that doesn't work, you might have to a stereo shop look at it. Wait until best buy offers a coupon, usually every 4 months.

I have an innovatek in-dash dvd player model - IN-731GPS and there is no power getting into the device but power to the clip and all wiring i tried reseting it and the light just blinks once then nothing...

Did you use a wiring harness to install the unit? Check to see if there is a fuse on the back of the unit, and replace it. Also, check to make sure your ground is good. Make sure you have the switched power and constant power hooked correctly. Hope this helps

I have installed an overhead DVD player Insignia NS-D9500. It only works when the door is opened. It turns off when the car door is closed. Did I wire wrong somewhere?

you have wired your power into the door switch circuit, you need to find switched power from the ignition such as the radio feed to splice for power to your unit.

I have recharged a low battery on two different occassions and both times all radio info was cleared. Whu Happen? Car being 2001 Hyundai Sonata.

Hi Duffygolfer,

I understand your problem that your car audio FM settings were getting deleted automatically.

For you information, please understand that most of the car audio systems will retain the settings stored to in it will be retained in the audio system memory by making use of the battery power even when the car is switched off and key is removed.

So in case if the car battery is removed or gone into low battery, then there will be disconnection in the power sent to the car audio system for retaining the user customizations like FM frequency, settings, etc.

As you have said that your car battery ran out of power twice, thats the exact reason for why all your car audio player FM station settings has been wiped out.

I hope you understand the reason behind your problem and this does not denote any problem with your car audio device.

Thanks

Your old unit was a common ground unit meaning all speaker grounds as well a radio ground were the same. The new unit should NOT be connected to this wire configuration. Newer units change the potential difference of the speaker power meaning that the - wire of the unit may have negative 24v on it so IT CANNOT BE REFERENCED TO EARTH OR CHASSIS GROUND.

I would recommend rewiring the speakers to the radio for best reliability and sound quality.

If you are unplugging the subs from the aux output at the cd player, your Audio lines feeding the amps is shorted somewhere between the cd player and Amps.

No power

Hi,

Other than the +12V, the ground (-) and the 2 RCA inputs, normally external amps have also a remote trigger which switches it to active on. The remote trigger is activated by a wire from the head unit. Colors would either be yellow or blue but depends on manufacturer of head unit. Alternately, you can connect a simple toggle on/off switch to activate the external amp.

Additionally, pls verify that the 2 RCAs from your head unit are audio out and not audio in for aux source.

Good luck and kind regards.
