Question about Philips GoGear SA1335 MP3 Player

Hello i have a problem with my goGear. I can't find the cd with program for the computer. I upgraded goGear but I can't manage it-put music on, erase it, ... . . . Where can I get the program for the computer, so that the goGear will be functional? Thank you very much, Nina

Visit the philips website and found your product. Download the device manager program and install it to your computer. Run the program, keep pressing the 'return' button and put into the pc's usb. Keep pressing, the device manager program will find the device and then you can solve the problem by the program.

Most likely this kind of problems occurs when the Mp3 Player's Firmware Corrupted, In Order to Fix that you shud upgrade/install the Firmware to your Mp3 Player.Please Follow these Steps to Fix Your Problem:

  1. Download the attached zip file into a temp folder of your PC
  2. Unzip the file into the temp folder and then double click theDM_WEB_ENG.exe file to install the latest version of the Device Manageron your PC
  3. Follow screen instructions to complete the installation of the latest version of the Device Manager application on your PC..
  4. Connect the GoGear to the power supply with the AC/DC adapter.
  5. Make sure all other applications such as Philips Device Plug-in,Windows Media Player or Windows Explorer that accessing the device areclosed or else Device Manager will not recognize the device. Launch theDevice Manager at Start->Programs->Philips DeviceManager->Philips Device Manager on your PC.
  6. Select the REPAIR tab on the dialogue box and then click Repair to start repairing.
    IMPORTANT: All music & content of the device will be erased once the GoGear is repaired.
  7. Once the repair is complete a dialogue box will pop up; click OK andunplug the GoGear from the computer. Follow all screen instructions tocomplete the repair.
  8. The Device Manager will close automatically once the success message isdisplayed. Close all opened application and then unplug your device.
Once the GoGear is disconnected from the computer, the display willshow “Firmware Upgrading” for a couple of seconds and then start up asusual. You will then need to re-sync the GoGear using Windows MediaPlayer to place your files back on the GoGear.

Run the Update tab in the Philips Device Manager - make sure you are connected to the internet before performing the Update.

Can not view pics on mp3 player


GoGear is missing music or pictures. The missing files can be seen using Windows Explorer or Windows Media Player but not on the menu of the GoGear. Most of the time the issue occurs after loading new files on the unit. What could be the problem?


Answer
The database of the device may be corrupted, this may be resolved with the firmware upgrade to version 2.4. Please follow the instructions below to upgrade the firmware

IMPORTANT: Please note that since this is a special release, updating the device with this firmware version will result in the loss of all content (music , photos, data files) currently on your device. It is advised to first back up all the content from the device to your PC before carrying out the update. You should copy any files you don't want to lose to your hard drive using Windows Explorer.

  1. Download the attached zip file into a temp folder of your PC
  2. Unzip the file into the temp folder and then double click the DM_WEB_ENG.exe file to install the latest version of the Device Manager on your PC
  3. Follow screen instructions to complete the installation of the latest version of the Device Manager application on your PC. (Version 5.3 (022) for HDD1420, HDD1620, HDD1630 & HDD1635) (Version 5.2 (022) for HDD6320 & HDD6330)
  4. Connect the GoGear to the power supply with the AC/DC adapter.
  5. Make sure all other applications such as Philips Device Plug-in, Windows Media Player or Windows Explorer that accessing the device are closed or else Device Manager will not recognize the device. There is a program on the installation CD called the Philips Device Manager - it has a Repair option. If you have lost the CD, you can get the Device Manager from Philips website.

Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. If you have tried the reset, then it could be one of the following:
1. faulty charger - Need to replace it
2. Faulty/failing battery - Need to replace it
3. Faulty contacts / cable - Need to replace the cable or service the unit for faulty contacts.

If you are able to switch on the unit, try the following:
Please follow the steps below to recover and upgrade your player with the latest firmware:
  1. Make sure that your computer is online and connecting to the Internet.
  2. Launch the Firmware Manager at Start->Programs->Philips Firmware Manager on your PC.
  3. Connect your GoGear to the computer while pressing & holding the 070119082257_17362.gif(>||) key until the Firmware Manager recognize the GoGear and a dialogue boxpop up in recover mode.** If you failed going to recovery mode, “pleaseconnect the device in recovery mode” is displayed please repeat step 1to step 3.
  4. Click Start to confirm and start recovering the unit to its factory setting.
    IMPORTANT: All music & content of your GoGear Player will be erased once the factory setting is restored.
  5. Follow all screen instructions and click Finish at the end to complete the recovery.
  6. The Firmware manager will close automatically once the success message is displayed.
  7. You can now remove your player and start using it again.
You could also try to manually upgrade the firmware and see if that helps...
