Question about New Home Hunter Charmaine¿ Model : 28190 Brand Fan
Hello, I wish I were there to know what kind of popping its doing? I would set up a ladder or something steady, and with the power off check all of the blades for any cracks or any damage at all. Also, after it has ran for sometime, and you here it pop, kill the switch and grasp the body of the motor to see if it is hot, carefully though. You may have a faulty winding in the motor that has been damaged causing the motor to pop if it has come un wound from the coil and arcing.Keep your eye on it and to be honest, there is not a lot that can go wrong and cause this. When you mounted this fan, did you have to add a piece of 2x4 from joist to joist to have a good strong support? If not, it could be that the electrical box may be popping at times. Anyway, I hope I have given you some ideas to solve this problem. Being that the fan is that new, its hard to believe the motor is popping due to a winding. Check the box and blades, and make sure it is in balance. You will be able to find the cause. Just make sure it's not popping from the electrical box moving every now and then. Check your wiring to make sure you don't have a hot or neutral wire grounding once in a while.
