Hi

Check the connections to the igniter's terminal. If connections seem to be fine then check the wiring to the knob. Also make sure the igniter is not burnt, do remember to turn off the power or reset the breaker before checking this. Replace the igniter if necessary. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Hello,

Below are some troubleshooting tips that can help to solve the problem;

Broken Electric Ignitor

Most modern gas stoves use either a glow or hot surface ignition system or a spark ignition system, both of which use electricity to start the flames of the oven or range top burners. The experts at DavesRepair.com say that if your ignitor does not glow or create sparks at all, or it does so only after a wait of three minutes or longer, it is likely malfunctioning or broken. Problems can occur with cracking in the ignition unit from years of use or damaged wiring that prevents the ignitor from receiving power. Replacing the electric ignitor should fix this problem.

Malfunctioning Gas Valves

Electric ignition systems in gas stoves use special valves that open as the ignitor heats up, according to DavesRepair.com. If the ignitor sparks or glows properly but the burners fail to turn on, the ignitor may not be getting enough electrical current to open the gas valve sufficiently to turn them on. Replacing the electric ignitor may fix the problem, or a new valve system may be required.

Clogged Pilot Tube

Older stoves use a constantly lit pilot light to ignite the burners of the oven or stovetop. This small flame is fed by a tube emitting a very low amount of gas. When clogged, the pilot light will go out and will be impossible to relight. The Family Handyman website says that a standing pilot light tube is easily cleaned with a needle. Running the needle through the pilot hole will remove any built-up soot or food debris, allowing the gas to flow freely again. Cleaning the pilot light tube should be performed as a part of regular cleaning and maintenance, especially on older gas stoves.

Clogged Burner Ports

Soot, food debris and dust can all clog the ports on the gas stove burner itself, preventing the ignition system from completing the lighting sequence. The experts at Whirlpool say that wiping the gas lines under the burner with a damp cloth and cleaning the ports with a straight pin will return functionality to the burners. Constant attempts to light the burners when they are clogged can overheat or damage an electric ignitor.

Blown-out Pilot Light

Older gas stoves that use a constant pilot light will not ignite properly if this small flame is blown out by accident. Once you have checked that your oven uses a standing pilot instead of an electric ignitor, the Appliance411 website says that relighting the pilot simply requires a long match. Pilot lights that won't stay lit may indicate a clogged pilot tube or low pressure in the gas lines that feed the flame.

I hope the above helps.....

Good luck.

Dynasty DGR-248 LP to NAT conversion how to

Any qualified gas installer can convert it for you. Pretty straightforward. They do it all the time. A lot of new appliances come with either option and they convert them on the spot. Mainly the gas injector orifice size needs increasing. They can do this with out requiring spare parts. They just make it easier. Will also require an appliance regulator to be installed.

Broiler doesn't lite, no gas going to pilot

Most cases Broiler ignitor is out, after you turn on the Broiler, check the voltage on Broiler ignitor 2 wires, if you have approx. 110v, then change the ignitor, but you don't have 110v, then check Broiler safety valve and oven thermostat, but 90% of the time is the Broiler ignitor. Have fun.

Dynasty oven fails to get enough gas to light.

I think you are talking about the oven safety valve or thermal valve. before you change you oven safety valve, I would check the Amperage on the oven ignitor first, install AMP meter on one of the ignitor wire, it should draw above 3AMPs, if not then you have problem with the oven ignitor and not the safety valve. we hardly change the safety valve, I'll try to change the ignitor first. Have fun.

pull up the floor of your oven and look at the burner, have any of the small gas holes rusted out in to bigger holes? Sounds like it is possible that most of the gas is now coming out a 'burned out' hole rather than the small neat row of normal holes. Good luck.

Dynasty range, oven does not heat up enough

30 inch oven has only one oven tube, 36 inch oven has 2 burners in it, most comment is the oven ignitor is out. If you have 2 burners, I'll change both oven ignitor at the same time, because they worked together. also check the oven tube, if it is corroded at the ignitor area, change the burners. Have fun.
