Question about Televison & Video
Since you did not provide the make or model number of your TV, I can only give you some general advice for now.
First of all, try unplugging the power cord from the unit and leaving it out overnight. If the problem is is just a temporary fault, then this may reset the system and clear it up when you plug it back in and power up.
Otherwise, this is most likely an indication of a fault on one of the circuit boards inside the TV.
If you are capable of safely disassembling and troubleshooting electronics, then I may be able to help you further if you provide me with additional details about your set and the problem.
However, if you are unwilling to carry out those types of electrical troubleshooting and component replacement procedures yourself, then you are definitely going to have to bring the set in to a technician.
If your set is still under warranty, then you have no worries and the repairs will likely be carried out no charge.
If the set is too old, then you will have to seriously consider the cost benefit of spending at least $100 on a trip to the shop versus the purchase price of a brand new television that does come with a full warranty.
Please comment back here to this page if you have any questions, or any details to add, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.
Thank you very much and good luck.
