I have a ford fiesta 1996 ghia uk model and when you turn the ignition on the temperture gauge goes right over to the red when the engine is cold or not and never moves untill the engine is switched off? can you help:)

It sounds like either the sensor or wire has shorted out. If you can get to the back of the gauge, try disconnecting it, it should drop. Next, If you can find it on the block, try disconnecting the sensor wire for a test. It is usually the sensor though.

1996 fiesta ghia diesal no glow plug light


No power to the glow plugs means no power to the light also. You have a bad fuse or connection to the glow plug relay. Fix that and your good to go. Has nothing to do with your indicator lights on either side of dash. Glow Plug power indicator is labeled THAT and only that.

Ford galaxy 1996 v6 ghia x warning light at temp gauge flashes all the time


If this is a red flashing light beneath the temperature guage it means that you do not have enough coolant. Top up the large white ball shaped reservior at the right hand side of the engine compartment just behind the battery.

This is a common problem after changing the Key Fob battery.

The solution is to remove the fuse feeding the Cental Locking for 10 minute...Replace then all should work fine

Temp gauge


Sounds like a faulty temp sender or gauge, if it does this from cold
