According to the manual, all you have to do is hold the button 'child lock' on your remote for a few seconds. Until the key disappears. Hope this helps!

My child lock is on on my phillips 755vr dvd player how do i turn it off without the remote

Basically, the child lock feature is a security feature to keep the children away from unauthorized video content.
Your best bet is to get an original replacement remote.

You may try this general step to unlock without the Remote. However, it may not work for all the models.
Please hold down the Power button on the Player until "CHILD LOCK" or the "Key symbol" disappears from the front panel display. The Player will be unlocked.

If you had set a code number - the override code should be able to resolve the issue. Please follow the below steps to enter the override code.
1. Press SYSTEM MENU to display the Setup menu.
2. Use the Number buttons to enter the 6-digit number
"210499". The previous password will be cleared.

Hope this helps you in resolving the issue.

Thank You,
Ravi Yelde

"tray locked" message

Hi
There must be a unlocking button on your remote or player.(Child proof) unlocking code might be needed.

Check the owners manual or do a web search for more info.

Symphonic WFR205 DVD recorded but not finalized

I have similar problem. I have recorded all of my old tapes on a DVD-RW disc (lots of time spent on it) and as I wanted to finalize them - it would display an recording error. Recently I purchased a new Sony blue ray player and I realized it would play the not finalized discs. I am still looking for a solution how to record these memories on a PC so I can edit them.
