Question about LG 50PG20 50 in. Plasma HDTV
It might be one of two things , it is either a buffer board that has gone or the ribbon cable going from the screen to the buffer board. If it is the buffer board it can be fixed by simply replacing the board with a new one, if its the ribbon cable from the screen then it cannot be repaired sorry.

This model was known for issues with the Y-sustain, Y-drives, and the Z-sustain boards. These boards help process the picture image to the screen.
When one or more of these boards fail, the screen stays black, and you only have audio & on/off.
You could call LG and try to get your TV repaired at a discount if you can convince LG to honor this known issue.
Another issue could be the actual panel has gone bad. The plasma panel in your TV has a two warranty and LG would fix that for free. Well…it would be free as long as it’s not past two years of your date of purchase.
What zip code are you in?
