Question about Energizer ER HM450 (ER-HM450) UPS System

1 Answer

Software problems and power shutdowns

I had been running Energizer FileSaver v 4.2.1, and just recently reinstalled it and upgraded to v 5.0, because the unit tends to shut down my PC overnight even when there is no power failure. No lights are visible on the unit, but I go to bed at night with the PC on and wake up the next day to find it has been powered down (the UPS must be turned back on by its power switch. Also, when I was running v4.2.1, the software loaded at startup and then minimized to the system tray. Then, for a few months, every time the PC started up, the software would come up with an error message (List out of bounds(0)) and when I clicked OK on the message the software would shut down. This stopped when I reinstalled the software. However, when I did the upgrade, the new version does not start when the PC starts. The old version still starts, and if I want the new version, I need to start it from the Programs menu in XP SP3. Is there a way to get this software to start rather than the old one, when the computer starts up, and get the old version out of there? I figured the upgrade would handle that, but it didn't.

So i would suggest to look into your add/remove programs and see is their is the older file still their. if thier is then you may need to uninstall it. however getting any program to startup in your computer, you just need to move the programs files to the startup folder in your start menus.

ok. some time newer versions of softwares will run diffrently depending on the changes made in the software. some programs will keep the older versions of themselfs while installing just making a new installation folder. at times this can be fustrating because it will use up alot of hd space.

Also, i'd suggest looking up the manufacturers website, and contact them regarding any problems. this way they know what they need to fix! and they may respond with some information that could be useful.

Samsung tablet note 2 won't turn on

I am not an expert with the Galaxy Note since I just own a Galaxy 2 Tab. But I have some suggestions.
Have you recently updated Android? If so your problem may be due to an error in the updated code. Solution: Contact Samsung to report your problem. If your problem is not unique, then you will have to wait until the software is fixed and the new update becomes available; this was my problem {I could not shutdown my Galaxy; after the shutdown it would just do a restart. I let the battery run down completely and stored the Galaxy for over month, waiting for the software upgrade. When I was notified of the upgrade, I installed the upgrade and everything was fixed.}
If you are impatient, search the web for how to "reset" your device by holding down the power on/off switch and the +key volume, if I remember correctly. This will put you in a kind-of debug mode. Don't rely on my directions but google this until you get the complete procedure so you do it correctly and you have some understanding of what you are doing.
Hope this is helpful even though it is not "the" solution to your particular problem.

I have 4 computers running GV-800 cards. I upgraded from 8.3 to 8.4 software via website download. All computers started rebooting randomly. Event log says "rebooted from bugcheck" I uninstalled,...

Since its happenning to 4 computers i dont think every PSU could be faulty
but if they are using the same power supply source it might be a fault with it tripping out because of an overload or something

but it does sound like its got something to do with GV-00 cards and there software
while you have your computer running scroll to bottom toolbar right click select task manager under processes and applications you will see what is running and ticking over it just might be a bug/virus

you might uninstall the recently upgraded software 8.4 and go back to the 8.3
to see what happens

youmight as well test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

bad leads can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions EIDE SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty
computers need power and data to travel through every working device and to have a finishing point to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
even something as small as faulty fan and the fans electrical lead can cause this problem

if this fails to fix the problem
another possible reason could be a memory dump you might be running to many programs at the one time placing to much strain on the CPU also you might not have enough RAM random access memory
hope this helps you

My lenovo g560 laptop freezes and i have to hold down the on/off switch to restart the machine, it is running windows7 home basic. it is still new and under warranty, what is causing the freezes, some...

Several things can be the cause here :
1. the laptop hard drive is getting to hot and the sensor is causing it to shut down to protect the internal electronics and the hard drive
2. the fan that removes heat from the housing is clogged or dirty or the sensor for the fan is faulty and the circuit that controls it is faulty and therefore the PC shutdown.
3. there could be a faulty on/off switch.(called a micro switch)
4. You battery may not be fully charge via the power adapter and it is running on residual power.
5. if the laptop unit is still under warranty contact the technical support to have it either replaced or serviced. Most manufacturer will provide a loaner unit to you until your unit is repair or replaced.

2. Click Start, type regedit, then press Enter.
3. Navigate to this Registry location:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers

Shutdown and restart problem wit my hcl notebook.

If you go to the internet often, you need at least 1 gb of RAM. And also you need to constantly run Disk Cleanup maybe twice a month. Have enugh hard drive capacity (ROM) : preferable 80 gb or more. To find Disk Cleanup ( Start - All Programs - Accessories - System tools - Disk Cleanup). If not working, save all your documents and valuabel information in another storage mean and reinstall your operating software. And after, run Disk Cleanup twice a month and upgrade your RAM. Consider a good Antivirus.

How to reinstall the acer edata security data management.

To reboot the system click on Start and then on the shutdown menu choose restart or shutdown.
If this error happens with a bluescreen and white writing then you will have to press the power button for about 5 seconds to force it to shutdown.
To reinstall the eData software use the Acer software CD that came with your computer to reinstall it or download it from Acer :

Select it from the Empowering Technology and Utilities section.

Good Luck
