Removing the impeller requires you lock the shaft as you turn the impeller off counter-clockwise. You will also need to check for an impeller screw in the center of the impeller inlet. If a screw is present they are usually left hand thread. Back out the screw first, then proceed to remove the impeller.

To lock the impeller you will have to remove the motor end cover or a cap covering the shaft end depending on which version your particular motor has. Look at the end opposite the pump and imagine a shaft from one end to the other right in the center.

Once you remove the cover you will see a slot for a screwdriver, a flat for a wrench, a hex hole for a hex key or some combination of these. Lock the shaft and spin off the impeller. Some are so tight you will end up breaking them in the process. Simply replace it and the seal. Be sure the motor shaft is in good enough condition to allow the new seal to work properly. If too much shaft material has rotted away the new seal will leak soon after it is installed; you would need a new motor at that point.

I have a Pentair 2.0 pump that I am trying to remove from the impellar. The shaft turns allowing me to turn the pump part itself but I can not pull it loose from the rest of the housing. How exactly do I...

The impeller is threaded onto the motor shaft. On 2hp motors and above, there is usually a screw with reverse threads to help secure impeller to shaft. To remove impeller, first remove screw(reverse threads) Next, remove back cover off motor. The shaft either has a slot for a screwdriver or flats for a wrench. Hold shaft and unscrew impeller.

Take a look at this picture:
http://www.poolcenter.com/parts_pumps_pacfab_challenger_highflow.htm
Make sure you remove the mounting screws item 15 (2 ea) and item 9 (4 ea)
There are also 3 screws 120 deg apart item 12. Screw holes can be seen on item 2.

The impeller has a Locking screw item 10 that if it is not removed makes it impossible to remove the impeller.

Pentair Whisper Flow 2hp pump appears to not **** as much water as before. Filter basket recently broke and allowed small leaves to get sucked up by the motor. Could this be the reason for the loss of...

Yes, If the debris you speak of got past the filter basket, it can clog the impeller. If the impeller is clogged, it wont pump water. Simply remove the 6 bolts on the pump end, then remove the diffuser with a 3/32 hex wrench, then clean the impeller. Its very easy, and very important that this get done every 6 months in an outdoor pool with trees surrounding it.

Also, the filter basket should last a long time, if this is breaking on you, make sure your water chemistry is in check. Agressive water can cause lots of damage and cost lots of money.

If you still have bad flow after this fix, replace the shaft seal.

Looking for #c105-214pfa 2 h/p impeller or substitute

I could not find that part number anywhere, however, there is an impeller part number of C105-214PA. If you look this up online, you should not have any problem finding the impeller for around $60.00. Make sure that you replace the shaft seal at the same time to ensure a good seal on the pump when it is put back together,
Hope this helps out!

My2 hp max e pro pump runs but barely moves any water

Have you opened up the wet end? If you have pine trees near you, it is probably a blocked impeller and needs to be cleaned. If this is not the case, is the pump basket full of water or air?
If it is full of water, it is either the impeller, or the motor bearing.

if it is full of air, it is an o-ring or shaft seal. more likely the shaft seal. Always check the impeller first.

How do you release the motor from the pump

Take off the impeller. You will need to hold the motor shaft from the back and spin the impeller off. Check in the mouth of the impeller for a screw. This will need to be removed first.

I have a proline 2hp above ground pump. A snake

The impeller is still jammed you need to get it cleaned out. You can try with a pair of needle knose pliers if that doesnt work your gona have to remove the pump bolts that hold the motore to the pump pod. Remove the bolts around the motor and seperate it this will give you better axcess to the impeller. Clean it out and try to move it if the impeller will not spin freely with the debris removed the motor has burned up .
