The ideal option would be to connect a CD/DVD drive to the unit. If you don't have one and don't wish to purchase one, you can create a bootable USB flash drive following the instructions here:

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

No, not unless you upgraded the RAM to at least 1GB.

I have an old IBM t60 Thinkpad I am trying to (clean) install XP home edition. The OS is installed but I have no internet connection. I am missing drivers for Network controller, PCI device, SM Bus...

You can try to use an Ubuntu 10.10 CD, and when you are done with the install you will have access to the web without needing any drivers.
Then go to the web and download your XP drivers if you still need to.
Would recommend you use Ubuntu as it is much better OS than XP and runs great on T60 very solid.

I have installed ubuntu on my ibm thinkpad t23 and have no sound. can you help.

try running alsamixer in a terminal window.

and adjust the levels of all output devices. Use left and write arrow keys to move from one channel to the next.

Some may be muted (completed turned off) which is indicated by "MM". Press the "M" key to toggle and use the up arrow key to raise the volume.

If this doesn't work, then you may have deeper problems.

Use the pull-down menus of System / Preferences / Sound to see if OSS or ALSA gives better results. Pulse Audio is trickier to use in later Ubuntu editions, but it should work ok with Karmic.

Good luck.

I have an IBM Thinkpad R40 Type 2681. I just want to know what Motherboard is in it without disassembling. Anybody know?

Access http://www.MajorGeeks.com
Find and download "Everest Home Edition".
Install it, and run it, to find out "everything" about your hardware.

Sound not operating in R60 thinkpad with ubuntu desktop 9.x.x

Make sure you have the most up to date drivers and that the unit is installed properly. Has this card ever produced sound? Did it stop working all of a sudden? If so then you can try to roll back the drivers to a previous version. If nothing works then uninstall the device and optain the installation drivers from the manufacturer and attempt to reinstall the device over again.

Install ubuntu on thinkpad x30

If you download Jaunty (it will probably work with 8.10 too though). When you're installing, press the key for alternative options (F4 I think), choose safe mode graphics and load the installer). You should then be able to install as usual.

There is an issue running it on the X30, so you may need to revert to the Xorg intel driver to 2.4, you can follow a guide here:
