Question about Dyson DC28 Animal Bagless Upright Vacuum

1 Answer

The On/Off button and floor selection buttons are blinking when the vacuum is running. The vacuum seems to be working fine but that seems odd that the lights are blinking.

Reset button ON DC25I

Dyson created a good vacuum cleaner but it seems odd that this problem of sucking a shoelace would disable your vacuum cleaner. I even replaced the head. PLUS they want 150 dollars to fix. Come on, if this where Dyson is going, to create something that's going to cost 100's of dollars to fix, then DO NOT BUY DYSON! They did send me a new head but my head still won't turn even after resetting the electrical button. I BET it's an easy fix. Lucky all we have is hardwood floors but frankly it would be hard for me to suggest to someone else that Dyson is the best. A product is ONLY as good as the warranty behind the product.

My garage will open just fine but when I push the button to close the lighrt blinks 3-5 times and then I have to press and hold the button until the door is completely closed. what may be the issue?

Sounds like the door thinks something is in the way. Verify the alignment of the photo sensor system, located at each side of the door, about 4 to 6 inches off of the floor.

I have an electrolux discovery II vacuum cleaner and the floor function works, but when I try to switch over to carpet mode, it doesn't seem to engage.

There is a red reset button on the back of the machine. When it trips, the brush won't engage. Press the reset button and then try your machine again.

The rotatory brush stopped turning after sucking rug fringe onto it. The belt looks fine. The suction is fine.

A problem I have run into a couple of times at home, generally when I am cleaning the bathroom, is that my Dyson brush won't turn. First off I would say be sure to check that you haven't pressed the button that turns the brush on and off, as silly as it may seem it may actually be the case. But if it isn't follow the steps below to clean your brush and get it working right again.
First and foremost always unplug your Dyson before you start any sort of work on it. Next grab a seat on the floor, yeah park your butr on the floor it will be easier because you won't be trying to lift your vacuum up to you. Now take a look at the brush bar to see how much hair and debris is caught in there. If there is very little then you probably don't have much to worry about and you can press the brush reset bar on the side of the vacuums head and your problem with they Dyson brush not turning in fixed. However if you are like me and you find that your cat, dog, and wife's hair are wound pretty tightly around the brush head you will need to take some time to pull in out of there as it is probably what is restricting the motorized brushes movements. Once you are finish you can also press the button on the side of the vacuums head. Now stand the vacuum and yourself back up and go plug it in. I bet that if you cleaned it out your Dyson brush will turn as normal.

Reset button or Fuse on my Infinity?

Ok, I took it apart, cleared the clog out, and put it back together. It wouldn't switch to "carpet". Got no answer on my question. Took it apart again, only I went further. Took apart the bottom - brush out, all inside bottom parts out, cleaned all that part of vac. No clogs down there. Ran the carpet/bare floor switch back and forth several times while I had it apart. Put it all back together and it worked fine. Still didn't find a fuse or reset button...

Vacuum will not turn on

Kenmore Model 116, behind the Vacuum cleaner there is a Motor Reset switch which you need to press.
1. Make sure the Vacuum Cleaner is unplugged.
2. Press the reset button gently in with a pen.
3. Plug back the Vacuum cleaner and it should work.
