It is possible the unit may cycle more, if a sufficient load is not kept in the compartments. Try to maintain at least a half load, in both sections. The cold food will help maintain the temperature longer, before it starts rising. Frequent opening of the doors or keeping them open for long periods, will cause the compressor to cycle more often. Check for gaps in the door gasket. If there are any gaps, you can use a hair dryer to smooth them out. Just be careful not to get it too hot. If the temperature is colder then normal due to excessive run time, you can adjust the controls to a slightly warmer setting.

The normal temp range for the fridge is 36 - 40 and the freezer is 0 - 5 degrees. To check the temperature in the freezer, place a thermometer between some packages. Air temperature is not a good check. To check the fridge temperature, place a thermometer in some liquid. A glass of water will work good for this.

I hope this will help you.

Fridge seems to run too frequently

How old is the fridge? Newer units will run more frequently and make "running" noises.

Freezer getting tomuch ice, fridge doesnot gets cold

The problem you describe is very frequent. The fridge is getting the coldness from the freezer through a chant and the force of a motor fan Motor evaporator

Number: 173301 Substitution: 5300158289 part no. 26. So the build up of ice in the freezer is blocking the air pass thought and get the fridge cold. Also it may block the fan motor blades from rotating.

So the first you need to check is the heating element on the evaporator in the freezer department. This element might have burn out (and now is open circuit) and even f the defrost timer give instruction for start heating up the element is bad so the defrost is not performed. You just need to replace the heating element. Heater

As you can see in above links and the one below you can find all the parts of your fridge which the diagrams can help you find them.

Our Amanda refrigerator/freezer has been making noises on and off (buzzing) over the past two months, in particular the bottom freezer. Today everything started to melt and the buzzing is frequent every...

It sounds like your evaporator fan motor, they last about 4-5 years. Try to see if the buzzing noise comes from the motor, usually in the freezer compartment behind a vented cover plate

The freezer is usually cooled by the compressor, the fridge is then cooled by an evaporator fan motor ($30). If this fan seizes or slows down then the fridge warms up (it sometimes starts squealing before this happens). It could be that your drain hose is clogged or frozen. Maybe the temperature adjuster go bumped.

If you think it is the evaporator fan motor:
Check to be sure you can get a replacement fan first, they last about 4 - 5 years. Can get from a parts supplier or electric motor company.
UNPLUG fridge. Located usually in top of freezer behind a vented cover plate. Remove cover, remove screws holding fan in, may have to cut wires. Replace with new motor, make sure the fan pushes air into the freezer area and doesn't spin backward drawing air from the freezer area.

Fridge & freezer have both lost cooling capacity & freezer feels like a fridge....Help!

How old is the unit? Did the problem start gradually or suddenly?

You'd be surprised what a negative effect dirty condenser coils can have on a refrigerant system. Try cleaning the coils on the bottom of the refrigerator and make sure the little fan that draws air across the bottom coils is running.

Loss of refrigerant can also cause inefficient cooling, but a refrigerator does not 'use' up freon and leaks are rare. If it's losing refrigerant, it's got a leak. But far more frequent are the problems noted above.

Kenmore Trio: the refridgerator is not getting cool

In the Freezer or Fridge compartment, there is the Evaporator Fan (& Motor) If the freezer is cold, the Evaporator fan motor most likely went bad. Check to see that when the compressor is running, so should be the fan motor. If not, you have to remove it & replace it. It is not an expensive repair unless you call for service on it. Make sure that you unplug the fridge when you replace the fan motor.

Sears Kenmore bottom freezer/refrig #68142model

just called in a sears technician 150 dollar bill that was an easy fix. he says my bottom freezer kenmore fridge with warm fridge problem was due to the pathway being blocked by ice and garbage which is common with these fridges. he took off cover from the fridge bottom and poured boiling water down to the freezer. try that before you replace any parts or call in a tech. next time im getting a top freezer because the blower is on the top not in the middle with the bottom freezers and thus more problem prone.
