Can you please tell me how the drain is run? does the AC line come out of the furnace and go directly down through a 90 degree ell? Is it the Air Conditioner or Furnace drain that leaks? Please give me all you can. Roger

If your drain is clean and it is still leaking, the water pan below the evaporator could be rusted out or depending on the installation make sure the coil box is not slanted away from the drain stub on the coil. Also check to see if the evaporator is freezing up due to low refrigerant or dirty filter.

Have a Rheem central air unit situated outdoors, 20 yrs/old. The condensers are contained within it. I can run it 2 days straight, no problems. As soon as I turn it off, water winds up inside.

If the unit is freezing you will begin to see frost building up on the larger diameter copper. Also if you take the panel off of the evaporator coil (section that the copper is entering) you should be able to dump some water in the pan And make sure it is draining. Slowly pour the water.

There is step by step instructions in the online manual. I found the 3/4 ton (1 size smaller than yours) manual very easily. I suggest you read this. But there is 2 screws located behind caps under the discharge air swing fin. I suggest 2 people if you plan on working on the tube behind the unit, you don't want to damage the copper tubing, located in the exact same location.

Water leaking out of hose on a fujitysu split system ast24rga

Normally, an Air Conditioner removes water from the air and that water condenses on the coils of the inside section that does the cooling. The water condenses on the cooling coils just like moisture condenses on the outside of a glass of ice water.
This excess water drains out of the cooling section through a "drip tube" and is supposed to drain outside of the house, or a drainage system. Your "drip tube" has either not been installed (if it is a brand new installation), has separated and water is now dripping into the house instead of outside of it. Or it is clogged. This happens when algae builds up inside the "drip pan". If that is the case, you can purchase "algaecide" tablets which kill the algae that is clogging the drip pan and preventing water from draining out through the drip tube. These tablets can be found in many hardware stores, refrigeration supply companies, or even Walmart. You can put a tablet inside the pan. (You will have to remove the cover of the unit). You can often use a little bit of Bleach and that will act as an algaecide. Hope this helps,
Best, Mark

Water should come out of the back of a wind unit when it is humid out, usually a drain hole. If water is leaking inside from a window unit, check that the outside drail hole is not clogged or maybe it is not tilted downward enough outside (Usually a very slight tilt down toward the outside to help the water drasin out the back outside). Also, if you have excess water forming, you may need to clean the coil. For central air units water should be drippng outside the home via a pipe or tubing and if the drain tube or pipe is clogged with scum that forms inside the pipe water will back up and overflow in the house near the heater/air conditioning unit. Also, some units have a pump to pump the water out and it may not be working.

Water leaks in the house from under the unit. There is a drain pipe that leads to the outside but we dont know if that pipe gets clogged or needs service.

Open up the inside unit pannel where the drain pipe is and you'll see a drain pan where the condensation water runs out to the drain , clean the drain pan and the hole and then with air pressure from an air compressor blow the drain from inside to outside and go outside the house where the drain discharged and you'll see the clogh that came out from the drain . To keep the drain clean , pour a cup of bleach or clorox every 3 or 4 months through the drain and in the drain pan.

Water leaking inside house

Your problem is there is debris inside of the casing blocking the drain hole in the back of the unit.. Go outside and look under the unit and you will see several holes throughout. These holes allow the condensation to drain out from the bottom of the unit. The best way to clean the unit is to remove the unit from the sleeve take the unit outside and you can wash out the system with a water house as long as you make sure that you don't wet any of the fan motors. The metal thing you refer to is the evaporator coil. If you go to the home improvement store you can purchase a can of coil cleaner. This cleaner is sprayed into the coil at which time it foams up like shaving cream. Let it sit on the coils as directed on the can. Once the time has elapsed rinse the coils well remembering not to get any electrical parts wet (I suggest purchasing a pump up garden sprayer for this because it is easy to control where the water will go) After this is done let the unit sit until the water has disappated then reinstall into its sleeve. The dust by the fan can be removed with a brush and a vacuum (wet Vac). Good luck on repairs

Goodman mini split unit condensating and leaking inside house instead of draining outside drain tube

Hi, your evap. drain is block, i know you are smart, we can do this, remove front cover of evap.(indoor unit) check for location of screws, look carefully you will see drain connection and tray, try to clean, use mild cleaning solvent, or practical way push something flexible into tubing, also clear your air filter, and you'll be in good shape, also check leveling of evap(indoor unit), with spirit level, should be horozontally leved. good luck.

Water Leakage

sounds as if your condensating drain is clogged. This drain is connected to a drain pan in which your eveporator coil is in. The filter material may have gotten into this pan and covered the drain hole. The way to check is to open the area where the coil is located and look at the tray this coil sits in. This tray should have a hole right in the corner of it. You may need to get a shop vac with a small hose attachment and use it to remove the water in this pan in order for you to see this drainage hole. You may also go to the drain where it is located on the outside of the house (this drain is located by the a/c unit outside most of the time) and using the wet vac, put the house on the end of the drain pipe and have the vaccum pull out alll the debris this way. Good Luck

Make sure the unit is level, this is very important. Check for blocked drain tube, which runs from the bottom of the drain pan under the cold coil to the outside. Clear tube with a piece of coathanger wire, be gentle.
