That is the end with the MIRROR! Turn it around-- the focuser is on the UP end of the telescope and the PICTURE that Fixya uses (above) is ALSO mounted upside down! The scope above is pointed at the ground!

Many beginners mount the scope backwards.

Which end piece do I remove, the one closest to the view finder ?

The end with the focuser is the UP end of the telescope. This is a reflector style telescope with a mirror in the BOTTOM. Take off the lens cap on the UP end near the focuser.

I dont have a clue which end is suppose to be facing upward.

Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the telescope. Go outside during the daytime and practice focusing on a distant object.

If you have a telescope with a MIRROR then the end with the focuser is pointed UP.

If you have a telescope with a lens in the front and and the focuser on the end, then the end with the lens is pointed up.

Read this and look at the pictures that show which end is UP:

Can't see out of eye piece

This is a reflector style telescope. The MIRROR is in the base! Light enters the front near the focuser and goes down the tube and bounces off the mirror and back to the front and through the eyepiece. The EYEPIECE end is pointed up.

Your scope TUBE should look like the reflector telescope on this web page:

http://www.amazon.com/Edu-Science-Astro-Nova-102-Telescope/dp/B001NLOQN2

Wish you had NOT bought this telescope. For about the same price you could have bought this:
http://www.telescope.com/control/product/~category_id=classicdobs/~pcategory=dobsonians/~product_id=08942

The scope above has a 6 inch mirror which is almost twice the size of the scope you bought.

Piece of felt covering mirror, is this suppose to be there?

Here is the manual for your telescope--

http://meade.com/manuals/TelescopeManuals/Reflectors/Meade%20114%20EQ-ASB%20manual.pdf

The mirror at the bottom should NOT be covered-- with felt? Unless this was something Meade did to protect the mirror from dust and dirt during shipping?

Hi I have just got a Tasco telescope space station and i have it all set up but cant seem to be able to remove the lense at the end of the telescope. How would it come off?? Thanks

I assume this is the refractor style model-- the "L" shaped device on the end is a diagonal -- the eyepiece goes into the diagonal. Loosen the set-screws.

Lens came off-where do springs go?

There are a bunch of Sky Tour telescopes ---

http://www.opticsplanet.net/bushnell-warranty.html

which model you actually have??

I am assuming you have what is called a Dobsonian mounted reflector like this one:

http://www.bushnell.com/manuals/telescopes/78-4500_Voyager.pdf

Is that correct?
