I lost cord to connect to computer to scan what do i get brother mc210 printer

Visit the Brother Solution Center for your country/area of residence and download the Brother software suite relevant to your machine: Model number, Operating system (Windows, or linux, 32 or 63 bits) and install it on your computer. You must choose the type of connection (USB or LAN). Install the USB or NEtwork software. After installation, connect the printer (through a USB cable if you chose USB installation, or ethernet cable if you chose Network. then connect the MFC.

For the scanning software (ScanSoft) you will have to install it from the original CD. If you no longer have it you can buy some scanning software or install free software from the web. Several applications (Word, Acrobat) can scan by themselves. You also have some free OCR software; FreeOCR, PaperScan Free, etc.

Typically, a Brother machine stops printing, because the connection between the computer and the Brother machine is lost. There are multiple reasons for a lost connection.

1. The Brother print driver is Offline.
   
   
2. The Brother printer driver is not set as the default printer driver.
   
   
3. The computer, not the monitor, connected to the Brother machine is set to go into sleep or standby mode. When the computer goes into sleep or standby mode, the connection between the computer and the Brother machine is lost and needs to be re-established.

Follow the steps below in order to re-establish the connection between the Brother machine and the computer:

1. Verify that the Brother machine is connected with a USB cable and is not on a network.
   
   
2. Verify the power cord and USB cable are securely connected. If the USB cable is loose on either end, disconnect and reconnect the cable securely. Test the machine by trying to print. If the machine does not print, go to STEP3.
   
   
3. Cycle the power of the Brother machine by unplugging the power cord from power outlet, wait approximately one minute and plug back in. Once the Brother machine displays the date and time after plugging it back in, test the machine by trying to print. If the machine does not print, to Step 4.
   
   
4. Reboot the computer connect to the Brother machine and then try to print again.

I lost my network fax and scanning when I upgraded to Win 7 as Brother had no support for Win7 and this printer. Very disappointing.

However, I recently downloaded the MFC-8370DN install package from the Brother website and installed it on my Win7 64 bit Asus laptop. The installer couldn't find my MFC8820DN, but I manually entered the IP address (192.168.0.100 in my case). The install completed cleanly, after a reboot I can now start Brother Control Centre 3 and scan and fax from my 8820DN over the network. All good, no need to buy a new printer just yet...

Hello. In order to scan on all of these printers you must remember that this is not a wireless function. Therefore, connect the computer to the printer with a usb-printer cord. Joe

You need the brother scan software running on your computer before you try to scan unless you use one like picasso and initiate the scan from your computer.

Get the manual, and you may need the install disk too. Look carefully at the usb port on the copier so you get the correct usb cord.

3)uninstall all usb ports and then scan for hardware changes
4)ur pc will detect your printer and ask for printer drivers
5)re load drivers and your pc will communicate with your printer
6)for reloding install the cd follow the instructions on the screen and click next
7)restart when the printer is loded.connect the wires and cords properly.
