If you are running XP or Vista try a system restore back to a time and date before this happened.
A system restore will not get rid of any personal files but it will remove any thing you have installed after the restore date like Windows updates or antivirus software updates.

You MUST turn off the echo from the computer OR remove the sound card to line in connections. The tape out goes through the sound card and immediately back out to the tape in and around it goes for feedback.

The main mix controls ALL outputs simultaneously.

The mic channels are controlled individually by the sliders.

It sounds like you are on the verge of feedback where the mics are picking up the PA speakers.

Make sure you have loaded the support SW and make sure you have disabled ECHO as the mics may be looping back through the computer causing the rattle.

Sounds like a ground problem. Try to hook a ground strap or wire from the case of the computers power supply to the ground of the mixer. If it still has noise, try to touch the ground to the bracket of the computers sound card. Most likely, the computer uses a three prong adaptor and the mixer does not. Outlet grounds have voltages which bleed off from motors and other devices, which could cause the 60hz noise. If your mixer has a three prong plug do not plug your computer and mixer in separate outlets with separate grounds or you could fry your system. If you still have problems use a three to two prong adaptor and attach an isolated ground wire on the adaptor for the computer.

How do i connect yamaha mixer to pc or yamaha receiver

I am sorry to disagree, but some information in the previous post is INCORRECT. DO NOT connect the output of the mixer to the MIC input. The mixer generates LINE level output that should go to the LINE-IN on the sound card. If you connect the mixer to the mic input, you will damage the sound card. MIC level inputs have an additional amplification stage.

"Sound device not found" satellite m115-s1061

Make sure when the computer first starts up that you enter the setup BIOS( by either hitting f2, Delete, or whatever for you specific computer and there should be setting on one of the pages to either enable or dissable onboard sound. Sound cards don't interact good with anything else that is in your computer or anything that you may have recently installed such as an add in usb card, ethernet card, whatever. But you basically need to find out where your sound is coming from. An adapter card or onboard. I highly doubt you fried anything. But if so there are ways around that so don't despair. Get back with me if you need to a give me some more indepth info on your computer. Thanks

please define "reformat". A reformat to me means a complete "renewal" of both hard drive and op sys. If you agree, then windows did not detect your sound card during re-install. Open device manager and look for ant yellow markings next to the list of the sound system drivers. Those markings are telling you there is a driver problem, so proceed to update the drivers for each device. (for help-post back). If no devices exist in the list, then you must do the following: 1.) if secondary "plug-in" sound card, power down, remove card, power up to windows, shut down windows, plug in card, start windows. 2.) if MOBO-based sound, open BIOS screen at startup and ensure that all options are enabled for sound.
