From your description, I would say you should remove the spark plug and pull the engine over several times. Replace the plug and try starting it again. If it still does not start, come back to me with the new symptoms and lets take it from there.

4 lawn mowers same problem wont start until I prime the by hand. Briggs Stratton 917.387500/ 12AV566n01124987/20043/SDSP2245D Will the same primer bulb fit the above mowers.

If its identical it should work ,if not take the old one to a mower shop,to get correct one and make sure the choke is going right on when the cable is in choke position.

Pullcord wont pull out to srart engin

ok. 1. you are not pulling hard enough,or the turning of the motor is jammed or seized. look under mower deck for an object jammed w/the blade and deck.

Shrieking Lawnmower!! I hit small tree branch w/ walking non-drive 3.75 hp Briggs and Scrap-Iron "Sprint" off-brand gas mower. Started shrieking like banshee. Resulted in tangled pull-cord. So I removed...

sounds like you have dirt in the recoil clutch, (under the screen) or you bent something there. try removing the clutch and make sure shaft is very clean and lightly coated with oil. This would be for a briggs and stratton engine.

The spring in the cord rewinder is probably broken or loose. Need to tak it off and investigate.

Cannot start. The pullcord will not move

If it wont pull you probably have ceased the piston in some way. You can get access to the piston by removing the exhaust baffle. Or disassembling the entire saw.

Try putting a screw driver in where the exhaust and trying to move the piston just a little bit, back and forth. Once thats done, use a heavier gas / oil mixture.
