Question about Lexmark E234 Laser Printer

2 Answers

Paper stops I have a Lexmark E234 that feeds the paper thru the printer and then the paper stops about 3 inches before it would come out of the printer. I have opened the back cover to ensure there is nothing jammed there to stop it and even with the back cover open the paper stops. Any clue?

Check that the rear paper sensor feeler arm is not broken. It is the little black plastic tab that sticks up in the middle of the paper path when your looking at the back of the printer with the cover open. If you can't see it, it's probably broken.

When you open the back cover for a paper jam, is there a long roller that you can see? Take all paper out of the printer and turn it off. Very carefully use your finger to roll the roller upward until it clicks. This resets my printer, which is a different model, but it may help you as well.

I used to connect to my Lexmark E234 via network hub, now I need to connect it directly to my computer (OS 10.5.8) via USB cable, but my computer can't find the printer.

Here's a link to the Lexmark website for the Lexmark E234 driver for Macintosh 10.5.8 available for download. http://bit.ly/cqD2zX. Download and install the software. Hope this helps.

Hi my name is Lecette. I am having some trouble printing on my lexmark x5470 printer. When I print the paper slides in 3 inches and starts to crumble up and jams. Is there any way you can assist me with...

if the paper is crumpling up then something is stopping the paper from moving check the paper path for obstructions. if your first set of feed roller are moving and the second set is not then this will happen also

Lexmark E234 Paper jam light wont go off

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this, is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

Paper feed issue

The paper feed tires under the printer are glazed up this happens with use you can use a rubber restorer such as fedron to recondition the tires or you can contact lexmark via their web site to see if you can buy parts thru them and just order the paper feed tires.

Paper jams

Fan your paper.

Fan:
Meaning take the paper in your hand and wave it around or page thru the papers, This puts air between the paper to prevent jams.

Make sure you do not over due the paper in the tray. Try lighter paper weight.
