Question about Epson Stylus CX6400 All-In-One InkJet Printer

I own an EpsonStylus CX6400 printer. At first when switched on it showed an "ERROR" message. Now when switched on nothing at all happens. Electric power checked and found OK. Can you please help?

    Thank you for your advice. It was indeed the inkpad of the CX6400 which was full. I sopped up as much ink as I could, reset the printer as you indicated and Hey Presto! the machine returned to normality.Congratulations.

Looks like printer has triggered the level for its waste ink pad.
You may want to remove the ink absorber pads sitting under where the ink cartridge carrier parks. This is full of waste ink and may need to be cleaned under running tap water and soap. After cleaning the ink absorber pads, dry it and return to its place. This is dirty job to do. You may want to ask professional help to do this. But if you have guts, you can do it yourself.

After cleaning the waste ink pad, I do suggest you perform a reset to your printer to remove this error on your printer.

  • Turn OFF the printer.
  • Press B/W + Color + Stop button together and hold
  • Press the Power ON button and hold it (4 buttons now held, don't release the buttons until you see the light indicator is blinking. A message will be displayed on the screen also)
  • When it does release all buttons.
  • Press the Color button once
  • Then turn OFF the printer and when you turn it on hopefully it will have reset

  • Hope this fix your printer error.

      not necessarily..just remove the waste ink from the absorber pads, that is the most important.

    did you already try all the set up of your printer?. you said showed error message lost its connection to server that means you need to re install your printer to access the server. you need the CD installer of your printer then run the software so that your printer can now connect to server.

    the best way to solve the problem is to replace the printheads or
    Turn the printer on and pull the plug when it starts its initialization process. Can you move the carriage by hand at this point? If not, sounds like you may have a carriage motor\belt issue.

    or clear the error message.

    I was changing an ink cartridge on my epson cx6400 and it stopped at the chearge step. Now all that happens is an 'error mesage and nothing works. I have rebooterd the computer and the printer. Thanks

    have you tried installing and reinstalling your ink cartridges?, if so their might have been a physical defect on the ink cartridge itself, this may occur if the inks you installed are 3rd party ink cartridges where the handling is not that good
