Make sure you are getting spark from the coil. Then connect the coil wire to the distributor. Then check a plug wire for spark by grounding it with a screw driver. If you are getting spark from the coil, but not from the distributor wire there could be a wire broke in the distributor.

I removed a fuse under the hood while 97 grand marquis was running and it shut off, now it wont start and I did put the fuse back in and none of them are blown

cant reboot a ECM.
you need to check for fuel and spark
then possibly replace your ECM
you also need to figure out which fuse it was you pulled

Puts put power on the 110V outlets but not the 220V outlet

check the changeover switch and wiring if that's ok then you will need to check the coils on the alternator when using 110 it runs both coils in parallel but when using 220v it runs both in series if one coil is out you will get nothing

I just changed a head because of a popped valve seat, put it back together and had no spark, turns over but no spark. Checked for loose connections, wires, safties, but still no spark.

Did you have spark before repairs? Maybe the coil got bumped or ground wire to coil is pinched and grounding out. Check coil gap to flywheel, a standard gap is .005". If everything else checks out you probably have a bad coil.

I have a 5000 w maxa ER generator that has a battery assist added ( PM 0525312.17 ) Question...Is the battery a regular 12v car battery, or maybe a lawn tractor battery?? Once the generator is started...

Replace battery with your choice of 12v products considering physical size, amp range and warranty. Lawn tractor batteries seem to have the least life/duty cycle. There are two methods of charging the battery used by Coleman. One is to charge the battery with charger/alternator coils installed under flywheel of the engine and second is to charge with built-in circuit in generator itself. Examine your wiring diagram to discover which you have. Simple test with volt meter will show if system is charging. Test voltage at battery with engine off, then start engine and retest looking for slightly higher voltage indicating charge. The charging system is like a trickle charger and not like your auto with initially high amp charge then taper to minimum. If your run your generator for long periods of time and you feel that the battery is being overcharged, then rig a switch to stop charging after one hour or longer. Good holiday

Generator will not start

There are Three things a Motor needs to work, Fuel, Spark, Air. So you simply check each step, If you have Fuel, and you are sure it's getting to carburettor, then, First check, spark plug, (Replace is best), spark plug leads, and Ends. See if there is a "Spark" when the Motor is turned over. IF there is a good spark, OK, if NOT find out why, check, coil, check, points/Electronic ignition. Alternator. IF all good there, then Check, carburettor, Needle valve, Jet, float bowl, float and valve, check mixture. -
Those links above should help you find and fix.

Lawn tractor uses excessive fuel

This sounds like you may have weak spark because you are seeing unburnt fuel coming out of the exhaust, which is black smoke. However, it could be possible that your valves are not seating correctly or that your valve lash needs to be adjusted. Or, your compression is low. First, do a compression check, should be at least 100psi. Second, bring engine upto top dead center, apply 30psi of air into the spark plug hole and try to listen for air weaping either out of intake, exhaust, or breather. This will let you know what valve is faulty or if your rings are shot. Third, check your spark with a spark plug tester. Place the gap a 1/2" apart and turn over engine. You should have a nice blue spark across the gap. If it is orange looking, then replace all of the ingnition parts.
