Question about Optoma HD80 Projector

1 Answer

An intermittent problem: When the "on" button on the control box is pushed, the light on the projector either turns blue and the projector powers on, or the light remains red and the projector does not power on at all.

I have had the same problem ever since I got my HD80. At first it was intermittent, then eventually it happened every time, finally, it won't turn on at all now. To answer your questions:
    1) The lamp is the same that came with the unit, so 5 years, but less than 200 hours
    2) We have not touched anything in it
    3) It was used regularly until this became a regular problem. 3-5 times a week, but recently not at all because it won't even turn on any more.
    4) About 5 years now, but this has been happening ever since it was brand new so I doubt it's age related
    5) Not sure what you mean by this, but as we haven't opened it and nothing seems loose from what I can tell, I'm going to say yes - the lamp and filter covers are on tightly

To add some detail: The HD80 has a separate control/sources unit that controls everything from powering on to source switching (but not power supply to the projector itself). When the problem happens, sometimes the Control box light will turn blue, but the projector won't turn on, and sometimes the Control box light will just flash blue and turn back to red. As of now, we have not been able to turn it on for several months.

Replacing the lamp module requires special considerations:
  1. Turn off the projector.
  2. Wait 30 minutes for the projector to cool down and then unplug it.
  3. On the bottom of the projector, loosen the two screws on the lamp cover and then remove the cover.
  4. Loosen the two screws on the lamp module and pull out the module.
  5. Insert the new lamp module and tighten the two screws.
  6. Install the cover and tighten the two screws.
  7. Turn on the projector. If the lamp does not turn on after the warm-up period, try reinstalling the lamp again.
  8. Press enter on the projector or on the remote control to open the on-screen menu.
  9. Press the up (c00589410.gif ) or down (c00589411.gif ) arrow to select Setup and then press the right (c00589412.gif ) arrow.

Bluetooth wont charge or power on. when charging the red light comes on. once disconnected from charger it wont come on

Indicator Lights:
1.Headset Status Headset Indicator Light
2.Powering on Steady blue, then intermittent flashes
(changes to standby mode)
3.Powering off Red appears and goes off
4.Standby Blue intermittent flashes
5.Charging battery Red solid light. Light indicator turns off when
battery is fully charged and headset is off.
6.Low battery Triple red flashes
7.Pairing mode Blue/red alternating flashes
8.Missed call Purple flashes. Press the call control button
to cancel flashing light.
9.Incoming call Triple blue flashes when ringing.
Power on and off:
1.Turn on the headset Press and hold the call control button until the
indicator glows blue. You will hear ascending
tones.
2.Turn off the headset Press and hold the call control button until the
indicator glows red. You will hear descending
tones. When power is off, indicator stays off.
If none of this is helpful then it may be that your battery is dead, if that is the case then you will need to replace the whole headset. The battery's are not replaceable.

Good luck from Headsets Direct!

Try this, connect green wire to bare wire. Connect both black (power) wires to black wire in the box. Connect the blue wire to the button for the lights, and the red wire with the strip to the button for the fan, and the common for the buttons to the white wire.

Remote won't turn on projector

if the buttons don't work or the leds are not on the projector, it has a power problem. make sure the outlet for the projector is functioning. if still nothing, the bimetal breaker on the projector may have tripped due to overheating. you'll need to remove the top cover. the bimetal has a small red button and is located on the lamp housing. push in the button to reset it. also make sure that the lamp door and the lens cover are completely installed and that the blue switches for them are not broken. this will also cause it not to turn on.

Have a new Phillips 42" lcd tv. my cable box remote has been working intermittently. However the white light near the remote sensor on the TV blinks whenever I use the cable remote. after changing bat

your TV and, your cable box both "see" a series of invisible (infared) flashes of light like morse code these flases tell them what to do.one answer is to: buy a universal remote so that you can program a button for each device then when you want to control the cable box just push the "cable" button and, then volume etc. to turn your tv off push "tv" then "off" the service man was right but he should have explained this to you
also your cable remote may be programable to work with your tv like a universal remote check with your cable co.
