You can connect phone's memory card to computer, then download this file recovery program which is outstanding among all file recovery software.
http://www.asoftech.com/adr/

Please note that your phone's memory card should shown as a drive letter (like E:) in Computer, if not, you need to take out the memory card and then connect it to computer using a card reader (get one from ebay if you haven't already have one).

If above does not work, you may have to format the memory card (use quick format), and then use above mentioned software to scan again the memory card and recover your files.

Hi there,
First, you should recover the data on the memory card by using a data recovery program to avoid lossing them. You can try this one called Tenorshare Data Recovery which I used before. It can recover data after deeply scanning your memory card to look for lost data. You can get it from: http://www.any-data-recovery.com
Then you can format the card to check out where it can be fixed.Luck!

Did this kind problem happen when you connect your SD card to other computers? I don't think you have lost the data on the card just inaccessible. The media files should be still on the card.

One more question? You said that there was nothing on the card. Was the sd card recognized by your BlackBerry? IF not detected, there won't be any data of course.

So my suggestion is take the memory card out of your phone and load it with a card reader and plug it into your computer. Ignore the errors if the system asked you to repair. Download this data recovery freeware Recuva to try to rescue some files if possible.

Then format the memory card (to make sure it can be used again). Click on Control Panel - AdministrativeTools - Computer Management - Disk Management. Then right click on Disk removable drive (your sd memory card) and click Format.

After format, you should be able to access the card again but may find nothing insides. Do not be that worried. Start Recuva again to scan the disk for the lost items. NOTE: general format won't make the data on your card erased permanently.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Hello Kitty,

May be the data in your memory card lost due to some wrong steps you have performed.
The best way is to get the data back from memory card is to try the Data Recovery Software available
in market. First try the demo software of the data recovery software from their particular. If the demo software displays all your data you need then purchase their full version software to save your valuable data. Because in demo software you are not able to save the data. Please try the data recovery software for FAT partition. Because the memory cards have FAT filesystem.

It sounds like in your situation that you may have a bad card. If you cannot get your card to mount to your phone for storage, I would try to find access to a pc that has an SD card slot that you can try to format it that way. If the card still wont format, your looking at a defective card and will need to purchase a new one.

You can find Micro SD cards here for purchase.

I put music on the sd card and once i put it back in my phone the sd card says"Media card can not be accessed due to fatal errors." What does that mean and how can that be changed?

The file system is corrupted - most likely when you have put the music in you have done that incorrectly and the file system got corrupted in the process.
Format the card to FAT32, put it in the phone, start the phone with it in, take out the card, put it in the pc see if a music file has been created and put the mp3 music files in it, safely disconnect it and test it. If it's the same then the card has died, replace it.

MICROSD DONT WORK

Your computers SD card reader is more than likely too old. My computer is only a year old and was told it wouldn't work. I called PNY and they told me that I needed to buy either a 1GB or 2GB card or an SDHC external adapter. Of course it doesn't tell you this on the package, good luck!
