This sounds like the power adapter is either bad, or putting out too much voltage for the hard drive, which sounds like it may not be an exact replacement, or, as I say, bad from the gitgo. You don't mention having this problem with the old supply, so why would a new one fry the hard drive, is my question. Something else is going on, and you will have to take it step-by-step to figure it out. Almost every dvd and hard drive will probably be compatible, so I doubt that is the issue here.
Thinking logically, everything points to the new supply not being good, but another problem could have occurred with the dvd supply, causing this. If that's the case, it will have to be serviced to determine and correct the problem.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

The possible fault is that you have use the wrong adapter - maybe a universal type - with a mismatched power supply which had damaged the drive.
So in the first place it is important that the power supply matches and so keeps the unit free from such failures.
I am sure the hard drive you had used was working alright till it failed on the power supply and then with a bad supply unit. So you can use the same type or a better version available in your place that has warranty cover and required storage.

Why won't our Lorex Care and Share monitor work with the camera?

Make sure you have the proper power adapter plugged into the camera. It should be a 5V~1A power adapter.

Too much power and now lorex camera wont turn on

You destroyed the camera. Lorex won't cover that under warranty either. Since you didn't use the power adapter that came with the camera you'll have to get another camera and connect it correctly

Lorex-edge model no lh314 series will not record and beeps and says hdd is not installed

You need top open the top of the case by removing the screws and check to see if the hard drive is operating (it will be warm to the touch and may be making a slight noise). If the hard drive is not working, verify that it is plugged in. If the hard drive is bad, you can replace it with a SATA hard drive. The Lorex system will see the new hard drive and ask you to format it for use with the system.

My fujitsu laptop recently had a new hard drive installed in it ,but i want to transfer the data i have on the old hard drive that was removed from laptop to my new hard drive. I bought the all in one...

The Coolmax adapter is an USB hard drive adapter that can connect various types hard drives to your computer. This is used for testing and and transferring data to and from hard drives connected to the computer via the computer's USB port.

This Coolmax USB hard disk adapter can connect a 2.5-, 3.5- and 5.25-inch IDE or SATA hard disk to a PC. The black adapter box connects the hard disk, while the secondary power plug/adapter powers the drive. In the case of smaller notebook or SATA disks, the power cable is plugged directly into the adapter (as opposed to straight into the IDE hard disk).
The red USB cable, meanwhile, can be used to power hard disks directly from the host PC's bus via another USB port.

Connect the hard drive to the adapter as detailed above, power up your computer and plug the Coolmax USB cable into the conputer's USB port. The computer will detect and see this as an external drive, most likely as a E drive (the next drive letter that is available). Click on this drive and open to open the folder/s where your data is stored then select the folder/s and/or data and copy them, then open the hard drive on the computer and paste the folder/s and/or files onto the new hard drive.
