I have one of these and LOVE it. Usually what you describe is caused by debris keeping the rotor from turning. Check it again (take off the top part) and be sure the thing spins freely. They're very reliable, in my experience, but you can't let the blade get jammed.

I have a yard machinne 6.5hp chipper/shredder -

The blade(s) should have usually two bolts on them depending how many blades you have. Mine only has one blade held on with two bolts and that is only on the side that cuts the larger branches up to two inches in diameter and should be sharpened on a grinding wheel because it has a specific angle to it. The other side that chips smaller branches and twigs it a type of flailer, meaning pieces of metal just swinging around to mash up the sticks and do not need sharpening.

Broken Bosch AXT 2000 HP Shredder

Chances are there is a branch wedged in the blade assembly. Are you able to pull the starter cord? if not, you'll have to remove the housing that covers the blades and remove the blockage.

When you expose the blade use a bar to reverse the blade and release the tension, If it was blocked it should start up right away.

New dado set understand the shimms and chipper work

The shims are placed between the blades and chippers in a stack. they are used to make very small adjustments to the final dado width... So usually you set up your dado set for a specific width of cut according to your blade chart, then make a test cut... If you need to widen the cut very slightly, add some shims in between the blades as required to get a good fit on whatever material you are joining or putting into the dado etc.

Hope that makes sense!

My chipper is throwing long chunks of unchiped

Either your blades are dull or the gap between the intake tray by the blades is too far or is rounded off. Many chippers have a plate on the intake by the blades that can be flipped around when it rounds off. Also some have a edge on the other side of the blade so it can be reversed and give you a fresh edge. Be sure to unplug the sparkplugs and remove the key when going into your chipper to ensure no one can start it when your in it. There is usually a lock bar to keep the blades from moving.
