Try downloading the Initialize/Reset ISO from LG first.

Then, after running it, try to update the firmware to the latest version. Post back how it works out.

Download the LG NAS Initialization software and burn the image to a CD or DVD. Put the disk into the LG and turn it off. Hold down the backup button and while continuing to hold the backup button you turn it on. Continue to hold both buttons for about ten seconds. Let go.

I picked up a Fastora NAS-T4, but the previous owner no longer recalls the root password on the device. Is there anyway to reset the device to factory defaults? I see no 'reset' buttons available on it.

Turn off the NAS.
Press AND HOLD power button for about 30 secs.
That will force a hard reset and reset the unit to factory defaults. You will lose all data on drives that are plugged in at the moment. If they are in an ejected state, it may save your data, but I have not tried that.

Can't assign ip configuration to NAS 208

Probably the NAS got the same IP address of the router/switch. Something like 192.168.1.1. Try changing your router default IP address to 192.168.1.3. Look for the NAS now.

Self Testing

Ouch... You didn't say who's NAS device it is? It sounds like you may have a firmware issue on controller. You may need to reset the controller to the factory defaults. I'd suggest that you contact the manufacturer for details on how to do so. They should also have details on how to recover your data. If you can let us know what kind of a NAS device it is, maybe we can find more details on it.
