There are 2 filters in this vacuum. They normally clean themselves .
For the front one: turn off the vacuum cleaner when the filter light flashes; open the cover by lifting the release catch; lift up the filter holder and turn it a half turn so that the filters change places with each other and put the filters back into the vacuum cleaner; turn the left filter a full turn in the direction of the arrow - the filter light begins to flash and the vacuum cleaner starts, and as you turn, the filter is cleaned. After you have made a full turn, the vacuum cleaner turns off and the filter light stops flashing - you can now close the cover.
About once each year, when the filter light begins to flash more frequently, the filters need to be washed. So lift out the filters according to the above, remove one filter at a time from the filter
container by pressing the marked release button and turning the filter then rinse the filters in lukewarm water and let them dry. Thread the filters back into the filter holder
For the rear one, at every 2 years: remove the dust container ; lift the two snap catches at the back edge of the vacuum cleaner and open the filter cover then lift out the filter; rinse the inside (dirty side) in lukewarm tap water - tap the filter frame to remove the water. Repeat the process four times then put the filter back

Fan on air cleaner blows out top but does not suck

If air is blowing out - it most assuredly is getting in. The area of the intake make be large enough for you to perceive air being sucked in.
Make sure ALL filters are clean. Remove and replace disposable filters or wash and replace permanent filters. Do this for pre-filters too. Then, try again.

I own a HAP424G Air Purifier, and I need to know how to clean it. It has a large, flimsy filter, as well as 2 HEPA/Carbone filters. They've accumulated quite a lot of dust and I need to clean them, but I'm...

If the "flimsy filter you are talking about is a plastic or rubber foam you can clean with mild soap and warm water. Allow it to dry thoroughly before re-installing it. The HEPA filters are disposable items not meant to be cleaned. They are designed to be replaced and they sell filters on their website. In a pinch you could knock or tap in on a counter to knock out the loose debris and then using compressed air "like those sold in a can" can blow off more debris before reusing the filter. This is a temp fix and will reduce the efficiency of the filter and is not recommended unless you simply cannot get another filter.

I have cleaned the filters, and i still get the Clean Filter message. It is running fine, but the red letters Clean Filter are still there... any suggestions???

How did you clean the filters? I run mine through the dishwasher by themselves and it works pretty good. The tops and bottoms of the filters near the edges need to be wiped pretty clean.

Red light won't go off

To RESET the Electronic Filter Check:
When the filter check light remains on,it is time to check/clean the HEPA-Type
filters and reset the filter check,if needed. With the unit powered on,insert the tip of a ball-point pen or
paperclip into the hole next to the LED filter check light and hold for approximately 5 seconds until the
light turns off (Fig 5). Depending upon your individual usage (environment and hours used),you may need
to check and clean the filters more or less frequently. If the HEPA-Type filters are cleaned before the filter
check light turns on,the filter check should be reset at the same time.
These cleaning intervals are intended as guidelines only. Performance of any filter media is dependent
upon the concentration of contaminates going through the system. High concentrations of contaminates
such as dust, pet dander and smoking will reduce the useful performance of the filter.
NOTE:The HEPA-Type filters are not washable.

When the filter monitor light remains on, it is time to check/clean the IFD™ filters and reset the filter
monitor, if needed. With the unit powered on, insert the tip of a ball-point pen or paperclip next to the LED
filter check light and hold for approximately 5 seconds until the light turns off (Fig. 3). Depending upon
your individual usage (environment and hours used), you may need to check and clean the filters more or
less frequently. If the IFD™ filters are cleaned before the filter monitor light turns on, the filter monitor
should be reset at the same time.

You need to reset it, unplug the unit and take out both filters. Then, plug it back and and simultaneously and firmly slam both filters into the back of it at the same time. Before putting both filters back inside the until, also vacuum out the insides in case there is hair/dust inside of it that has accumulated.
Also, make sure your filters are 100% dry before every putting them back inside the unit.
Good luck!
