That's from their website. I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for, but maybe it'll help.

I want to register my nuvi 2589 LMT

Go to the Garmin website. If you have an account, log in. If you do not have an account, then make one. The site will allow you to register your device onto your account. You can then download and install Garmin Express, which will provide you with any software and map updates. To use Garmin Express, just plug your GPS into your PC, open the program, and follow the instructions it provides.

IS TOMTOM N14644 A LIFETIME UPDATE

You will know if your (specific) unit comes with a free life-time map update if it says so on the retail box that it comes in. Usually there is an "M" ... indicating free Map updates. A "T" indicates free Traffic (info) updates.
Otherwise, you can register the unit (on the TomTom website), and use the TomTom HOME software .... to find out. When you connect the unit to your computer running the TT HOME software, it will automatically tell you if/when you have updates ... including any free map updates

I want to activate my lifetime numaps

If you device is LMT model, go to download Garmin Express in your computer and then hook up with your GPS with your computer, follow the instruction and you will get free lifetime map and traffic updates any time you want. If your device is not LMT model, you have to pay each time you update your map and traffic which is expensive. Better to get a LMT model.

L do I know if I have life time updates on my gamin nuvi 100

Usually if you have lifetime traffic and map updates, the model comes with LMT which means Lifetime Map and Traffic updates. Or LM means Lifetime Map updates.

Free map download

Go on I'net. Garmin Free Lifetime Traffic and Maps Upgrade. Register the unit (No matter if it's a gift or your purchase. Register 1st. Follow all instructions for same. The s/n is on bottom of the unit usually. P.S., you have to use a magnifying glass usually to read it. Same information is on the Units box that unit came in. Sometimes you just have to be persistent to register it and get then get quarterly upgrades. Garmin does not make it easy. If the unit comes with free Maps and traffic, Do NOT Buy the $100 upgrade for same. Most new units comes with them.

How do I get free maps for my Garmin nuvi 1490t?

The only way you can get free maps is if your unit is a 1490LMT which is Lifetime Maps and Traffic. You would need to register your unit at www.garmin.com. You do have lifetime traffic because you say your unit is a 1490T.

If you don't have a lifetime map subscription, you will have to buy a lifetime map subscription or purchase new maps when they are released. The lifetime map subscription will save you money in the long run.

What is the difference between a Garmin 1370T and a 1370LMT?

The LMT model has lifetiime maps and traffic updates included in the price. Lifetime in this case is the lifetime of the satnav rather than your life. The T model is capable of receiving traffic services, so it routes you around traffic jams, in countries that support traffic. With the T model you have to pay for map and traffic updates.

I just bought the garmin nuvi 265wt. I tried to activate the free lifetime traffic that comes with the unit but when I touched the screen to enable the traffic it told me I first must go to www.garmin/fm...

Check the information that came in your box. With my TomTom Lifetime Traffic and Maps, there was an "activation" number on one sheet of paper. I had to activate (per instructions) before I could enable the lifetime goodies.
