Question about Computers & Internet
codes starting with 10 on Toshiba laptops point to a hard drive
failure. The drive is most likely dead and cannot be revived. You will
need to replace the drive and then reinstall the operating system.
If you have Windows Vista installed on your Laptop, or any other Windows, you could try and run a System Repair, click here for more information, from the Windows Installation CD or DVD. You could also try and run the Toshiba Restore utility or disc. The System Repair will not successfully complete if the hard drive is failing or dead. If your laptop is in warranty then visit Toshiba service center.
If you have access to another PC, and can remove the Hard Drive from your Laptop and install it in the other PC, you can run HDTune to check the drive for errors.
