Delphi roady 2 power problem

My unit just looses power then comes back on right away, it is usually after it has been on for about 6 or 7 hours here at work, plugged directly into the outlet. it gets annoying, i don't know if it may be because it gets warm or not. i don't loose the signal or anything

Your unit maybe overheating or is defective try putting it next to a fan and if the problem keeps up then the unit is defective and u may have to replace it, call your service provider before replacing the unit they should work out a deal on a new unit for u

I continually loose my reception on my xm roady xt, i wiggle it around and then it works again, and so on. do i have a bad base unit and do they wear out over time. mike@fgoh2o.com

You need to resolder your antenna port on the dock connector. It's a really easy repair, all you need is a fine tip soldering iron. The antenna jack is on the right of the dock connector, it has 1 middle pin and 1 n-shaped pin that leads to 2 pads on the PCB. Your middle pin most likely has a cracked joint.

Roady 2 intermittent power problem

I think you're right- the DC jack on the unit is either loose, broken, or has a cracked solder trace to one of it's legs. It will have to be replaced or resoldered. This could be quite a tedious job, not sure, as I've never replaced one on a unit like this. If you're an adventurous type, hoping to save some money, you might try to take the unit apart and see what you can see. Otherwise, you will have to have Delphi service it, or maybe a local computer shop might be able to do it. Make sure you get an estimate first, since repairs can be costly, sometimes justifying just going ahead and purchasing a new unit. You can try cleaning the plug with a qtip and alcohol, or other small object, in hopes of there just being oxidation on one of the plug components- that kind of thing happens frequently with car accessories (humidity can take it's toll). That's about all I can think of, hope this helps, and good luck.

Power Requirement for Delphi Roady 2 XM Radio

Radio shack has a unit that plugs into a 110 socket and will accept the 12V plug that is standard with the radio. I use my unit in the house, car and on my motorcycle. The part number is 22-505 for the Radio Shack part.

Cable for XM capable Stereo

Nope, you need to buy a "Passport" unit which is like a card, and then a Passport Base which is the card holder with a home antenna. You put the card into the base and plug the base into your Denon and the antenna into the Passport base. You should be able to get XM channel 1 and XM247 right away. If so, then you can call and get the unit activated under the 'family plan' which is cheaper since you already have one unit. Contact me if you need more help, okay?
