SOURCE: What grade oil do I

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

Compressor grade oils are basically SAE30 W oil. Read this:

Rol-Air OILCOMP30W34C Air Compressor Pump Oil - 30W Quart features ,
Specially engineered and tested to match the requirements of Rol-Air air
compressors , Provides superior rust and corrosion protection.

I.e SAE 30W oil / the same thing you would use in an older lawn mower engine or generator.

What they don't tell you is because they have re-labeled the 30W oil to OILCOMP30W they can charge you big time for SAE 30W oil. The only difference is the label.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

What oil do I use for a 2 HP air compressor

If it is the sort of compressor that needs oil (lots don't), you won't do better than obtain a can of dedicated compressor oil as produced by most respectable oil companies.

Compressors don't operate at such high temperatures as engines or suffer such extremes of pressure as hydraulic oils and so it is best to use an oil formulated for the conditions found in a compressor.

If you temporarily can't source a dedicated compressor oil I suggest you use a straight grade oil; SAE 30 would be about right for hard use but SAE 20 for short runs and light use.

What grade oil I use on my 2475f12.5g

You need compressor oil which does not have detergents. Don't use thin motor oil it may lessen the life of the compressor. I don't think a grade is generally specified although its around a 20 grade
here are some examples Compressor Oil

What grade oil doI use to change the oil?

Your comressor comes from the factory filled with Jenny Synthetic Blue Compressor Pump Oil. This is a 30 weight oil.
The picture below is Ingersoll Rands version of this oil.
I use it and have no complaints about it. It's also a lot easier to get.

That said any 30 weight oil will work. Although I would recommend synthetic because that is what the motor was broke in with.
Hope this helps.

Dewalt recommends synthetic oil in their compressors. The dewlat part # 5130427-00 quart, and 5130702-00 for a 4oz size. Available at www.dewalt.com or their service center. I have been using the Lowes brand of synthetic compressor oil. Kobalt oil sells for about $7 and works great. If you do not use your compressor all day like I do, you can use the standard grade of Kobalt compressor oil that sells for around $3. Synthetic oil is for extreme conditions. Good Luck!
