Hello,
It sounds like your oil sending unit is not functioning. When this goes out you lose oil pressure. When the oil pressure drops the oil does not circulate and then your engine does not lubricate and will seize up on you. That's the knocking you are hearing. The oil light is on because of the drop of oil pressure. I would stop driving that vehicle until that oil sending unit is repaired. If you do not repair this at home or where the vehicle is at the you will want to have it towed to the point of repair. You can test the oil sending unit with a pressure gauge beforehand too but it sounds to me like it is bad. Sometimes they are easy enough to switch out. If you give me your make and model and year of vehicle I can list the steps and location for you. Other wise have it towed to a mechanic. I would like to reiterate that you should not drive it anymore until it is repaired. The other thing that it could be is your oil pump. Either way stop driving it.
Regards, Tony

Oil light keeps comeing on ???

Remove the electric sender and install mechanical oil gauge to check that you have proper oil pressure. Bet ya the main bearings are not fitted correctly or the engine wasn't cleaned during overhaul and now bearings are trashed.

"I have a Mazda Bongo Brawny RF6C Diesel Engine with DPF, it showed an Engine Light, and I changed oil, oil filter, diesel Filter. I started it it picked but the engine light did not go...and I tried

you are going to have to plug in a diagnostic reader and find out what the problem is or to shut off the light . You could also drive it for 300KM and it should reset itself

Hi, i have a toyota fielder 1.8cc with a some problem which has now come up. when i switch on esp in the morning after staying overnight, it produces some really annoying sound from the engine. when the...

If it is a 'squealing' noise it's probably the alternator/power steering drive belt. Before you turn on the engine in the morning, lightlt smear or spray some oil on the inside of the drive belt to lubricate it. If the squealing stops/disappears, then that's the fault ..

That squealing noise can be caused by an incorrectly tensioned belt, or a worn belt. Replacement is the only option.

The other frightening sounds can best be described as 'rattles' or 'tapping'. When a car stands overnight all the oil drains back into the sump (oil/pan).

There are two things (usually) that can be cause the rattle/tap:
1. Because the oil hasn't been pumped around the system, at start up worn big end bearings can rattle and tap on the crankshaft until the oil 'fills the gaps'. The tapping/rattling goes away as the engine warms and oil is pumped around the lubricating system.

A 'bottom end tapping' is a symptom of worn big ends (they are bearings at the bottom of the piston and fit around the crankshaft).

2. A rattle/tapping from the top of the engine can either be a worn camshaft or 'lazy tappets'. Again, when the engine warms and oil gets to the camshaft and tappets (also called 'hydraulic lifters) the noise will disappear.

If your car has this rattling/tapping noise - identify whether it is coming from just under the rocker box (ie the camshaft/tappets..) or the bottom end of the engine (big end bearings).

If the noise is coming from the top of the engine, try an oil change with a can of thick 'additive' included. A lazy tappet (lifter) isn't too much to worry about. A worn camshaft will affect the performance of the engine, though continue to do its job. An oil change with an additive included may help in quitening things down.

A bottom end tap/rattle (or 'knock') - the sooner that is sorted out the better.

Oil Engine Light turned on and beeped after it reached 1200 rpm and then the clicking noise

have you done an oil change lately? If so did you doit yourself or was it done by a shop? I would check to see that the corret oil has been used fior your vehicle, I would also double check that the correct oil filter has been used. also on the open end of the oil filter that attaches to the car is a rubber " O " ring, I would remove the filter that is on there now and check to see that the O-ring from the old filter was not left behind.
