Question about Acer Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a emachine el1200-06w, I was trying to restore my system to\r\na earlier update date. When I tried to do it it asked for a empowering technology password. How do fine out what this password is I do not remember setting any. All I did when I got the computer is to create backup disk like they said to. I talked to someone and they said to restore back to factory defaults, but I do not want to lose my programs and data I have on my machine, Also I went to rstore just to check it out and It also said I need that password. Is there somewhere I can fine out what the password is.

Hello, according to Acer's website the default password is 000000 (six zero's). If that does not work try the step below.

Booted with Ubuntu 10.10 Live Cd.
Browsed to PQSERVICE hidden partition.
Opened "aimsdrs.dat" with text editor. (in root folder not "tools")
and "password" PD= "____" and "hint" HD="____"
are given and can be edited.

Hope this helps!

Emachines E627 laptop won't turn on, but the power button is blue.

Switch ON the PC, boot the PC in 'Safe Mode' by continuously tapping F8 button after you switch On until you get the Safe Mode Option.

Let windows boot in Safe Mode and log in to windows.

Go to 'Start'--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->Click 'System Restore'

A 'System Restore' window will appear.

Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time' and click Next

Now you will find one Month Calendar window with Dates below, go to the previous month by clicking the '

Note: It is better if you could remember from which date you are facing the issue, try to select a date prior to that date.

The detail of that particular date should show "System Checkpoint" and time on the right hand side box. Select that date.

Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a reboot.

After reboot your problem should be resolved.

I need to restore my compter to facotory using system recovery and I don't have the disk. I have a Emachines EL1850G-42W

Hi christoph73030

You have three choices..
1...Try to do a system restore to an earlier date.
This will take your comuter back to an earlier time when it was operating good, pick one of the darkened dates before your troubles started..
To do a restore: Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
2...Buy a restore disk from Emachines
3...Buy and Install a new operating system...
Sorry for the bad news
Please take time to rate me

When i turn my laptop on it just says configerating 3 of 3 and 0% then shuts down and resrarting can you help and i do not have a backup disc

Hi there,
It sounds like you have a corrupted update, try tapping the F8 button as the computer is booting, select to enter safe mode from that menu then once the machine has booted, run system restore from the accesories folder and restore to the last date you know the machine to be working (maybe even earlier if you dont install software frequently. Once this has completed the machine should reboot into normal windows. Presuming it does, I would recommend you then run windows update to try install the required updates.
Hope this helps

WINDOWS DID NOT START SUCCESSFULLY, WHAT IS CAUSED?

Try this.
Instead of selecting Last.... select Safe Mode. Once booted, Go to Start->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->Restore. Here as you proceed you will get an opportunity to restore to an earlier date when you are sure the Windows was running fine. May be a date earlier. The restorable dates will be shown in bold numbers. Select and follow the directions. The PC will reboot once in the process and you will have a bootable PC.

Just bought an acer aspire ax1200-b1581a.it worked fine for a few days now it will pop up there was a problem with the internet and shut the itnernet down,it started out going blue screen and at the bottom...

I think the problem is related to virus. Try restoring your PC to an earlier date 9 a date when it worked fine). You do this from Start-> Programs -> Accesories -> System Tools -> System Restore. Select
Restore my computer to an earlier time and Click Next. A date calender will appear, select the preferred date and click Next twice. The system will automatically restart when restoration is done.

If u are not abe to run System Restore then you need to enter safe mode by pressing F8 during booting and selecting Safe Mode from the menu that appears. In safe mode you will be asked a question, you have to select no, and system restore will start

If restoring your pc does not solve the problem then you may need to reinstall your OS.

Flash player problem

It could be, have you tried restoring your computer to an earlier date when you know that it was working okay. If you haven't loaded anything on your computer after this problem occured(programmes specifically), then do a system restore and see if it helps. It will restore your system files back to an earlier date. Go to Start>programs>accessories>system tools>system restore.
Choose a date when you know that it was working alright then click on restore. The computer will restore your files to your chosen date and then it will reboot your comptuer.

I hope this helps
